If he's in a Premiership club books, he cannot be making peanuts.

It's hard to walk away from a bad situation when you're getting paid well and on time.

The pitfalls of Premier League wages. Pays more to ride the bench. Thanks City/Chelsea.

This random website says he's on GBP 780,000 a year, or about $1 million. No MLS team is going to pay him that.

But he couldn’t possibly expect a pay raise at this point. He might have to suffer with $750K. Poor guy!

DC and Seattle are basically paying Arriola and Roldan that. The league is in a mode of over paying americans. If they wouldn't pay Hyndman that, they are dumber than I thought.

I still dont understand why people think he would or should come back to MLS. His dream and goal has been to play in the EPL. He is well known in Europe and should be able to find something at a decent level. I'm wondering what will happen around here if Bournemouth extend his contract.

It's not whether he wants to play in the Prem. Its whether he can convince a Prem team to play him as a regular.
If not ,at some point he won't get a contract. Then it's off to MLS.

His next contract doesnt need to be in the EPL and there are many more teams that would give him a better platform than MLS to get on an EPL team down the road. I think there are better leagues where he could get serious minutes, but both Rangers and Celtic have had interest in the past. An ambitious Championship team looking to get promoted might have interest as well.

Belgium seems like a decent destination.

I envy your optimism but what makes you believe he could "get on an EPL team down the road" when he's been shopping his talents in the UK for half a decade, at least, and no one seems particularly interested?

My optimism has dropped since preseason of this year. There are muliple reasons why I think he could end up on an EPL team down the road. He is actually on one now and has played a game in the EPL. I thought this preseason he didnt look ready but was very close. I think AFCB would have bought or gotten someone on loan if they didnt think he would be up to it in an emergency. His position is a tough one for young technical players with his physical tools to win. I think he would be playing in the EPL if he had stayed at Fulham.

The problem is someone was interested. He just picked the wrong interested party. If he had stayed at Fulham he could very likely be a starting - or at last contributing EPL-for-a-few-more-months player.

The reality is he is on an EPL team - and seems too good (and/or cheap) to let go, but not good enough to be needed. It's a tough spot, but I don't think it says a ton about his skill set and eventual level.

He's becoming a U-21 lifer --he's already 22, and the U-21 competitions allow for some overage guys. From time to time you can see some sorry 26 year old who only plays with the kids. If he gets renewed, that will be our Emo.

PS: The Cup is actually U-23 but B'mouth only has a U-21 team.
