The Belgian Jupiler League makes it return to Eleven Sports Network for the weekend of September 16-September 17, which marks the 7th round of the Championship.

Eleven Sports first picked up Jupiler League rights last season in April during the Championship Playoff stage. This season’s rights marks the first time that regular season matches will be presented in the United States. There was no coverage during the first six weeks of the current season. Based on last season’s coverage, we can expect more LIVE matches shown on the network - especially after the end of the college football season.

For the first weekend, Eleven Sports Network will present 3 matches on delayed basis:

    Saturday, September 16 -

Club Brugge vs KV Mechelen - played on Friday, September 15 at 1:30 pm ET but will be shown on Saturday, September 16 on delay at 6:00 am ET via Eleven Sports Network.

Kortrijk vs RSC Anderlecht - played on Saturday, September 16 at 11:00 am ET but will be shown on Saturday, September 16 on delay at 6:00 pm ET via Eleven Sports Network.

    Sunday, September 17 -

Oostende vs KAA Gent - played on Sunday, September 17 at 11:00 am ET but will be shown on Sunday, September 17 on delay at 7:00 pm ET via Eleven Sports Network.

Eleven Sports is currently available via DirecTV (#623), Verizon FiOS, AT&T U-Verse (#1665), Cablevision, Mediacom, RCN, Atlantic Broadband, PlayStation Vue and fubotv streaming services.

Eleven Sports has been acquiring rights like crazy overseas. It's very reminiscent of beINSports some 6-9 years ago worldwide. What this ultimately means for the US market is hard to judge. So far it's only the Belgian Jupiler League that is on the network.

Happy to report that Eleven's USA service is showing a ton of Club Friendlies this week. And what I didn't know until this week is that Eleven Sports DOES have a streaming service called 'Eleven Sports Next' and it's available at https://www.twitch.tv/elevensportsnext.

I added the matches to what I call the 'Best of the Rest' page and it can be seen here: http://soccertvblog.com/bestoftherest-tv/

Hope to see some more leagues added this fall (fingers crossed).

Unfortunatley, up to now most of the the scheduled games have NOT been shown, with the exception of Monday's Steaua-Vitesse match and their schedule has removed the games not shown. I have tuned in and seen non-soccer programming on Next and reruns from last season's Belgian League in the slots listed as friendlies on their TV channel. Hopefully, they will get things straightened out and their schedule wil be accurate in the future. They post a listing of live events on their facebook page each week:

It would be great if they picked up Dutch Eredivisie matches which is a far more competitive league than the Belgian one. I just saw a Dutch news article from this spring that NGSN which carried a bunch of leagues officially declared bankruptcy. It looks like I will have to rely on steams again this year for Ajax matches.

With new kids on the block ESPN+, DAZN, bleacher (as bad as the latter currently is), you’d think someone reputable would pick up the rights. Last season there were games intermittently on oz.com, but it didn’t seem entirely on the level.

Update on Belgian League coverage: BleacherReport carried the Supercup match this past Sunday (Still available as a free replay. with no final score showing (although scores abound everywhere else on the site). The Belgian season starts Friday, and there are no live games on ElevernSports or ElevenSports Next through next Sunday. (ElevenSports lists two friendlies scheduled to air Sunday morning).

I just read a post on another Ajax forum I belong to and elevensports has now purchased the English rights to Dutch league matches and Sky will not be broadcasting them this season.

Let's just make it clear that the rights were for the UK, where ElevenSports has also secured rights for La Liga, Serie A, Allsvenskan, and Chinese Super League (in a year) and will start up 2 channels in August. However, it may portend good things for the US channel, who might be showing leagues whose rights are not owned by others here (depending on the terms of their deals). I am hoping the Eredivisie ends up airing matches on ElevenSports.

In terms of Eredivisie matches, several years ago ESPN3 was regularly streaming some of them. One of the Spanish language stations (maybe Telemundo) regularly carried PSV games because of Guardado and several other Mexican-born players on the roster and of course the effort by NGSN to set up a streaming platform for the Dutch and other leagues (that effort lasted about a year before they ran into rights problems.

I think ESPN Caribbean does stream some Ajax matches but that's about it for North America. It doesn't look like eleven sports has a streaming platform as does Fox and BeIn.

Their streaming channel can be found here:
    https://www.twitch.tv/elevensportsnext
Note that it is NOT a simulcast of the cable channel. They do show some live events, where it serves as the overflow channel when they have two live events occurring in the same time period. The rest of the time is filled with taped events.

(I just checked and both stations are showing live darts, but this simulcasting of ecents is unusual unless they have changed their policy recently)

They've carried some Liverpool friendlies and it's been a dumpster fire to try to catch them live or on delay. No reliable schedule on their site or Facebook and their twitch stream cut off 20 mins into the one game I finally was able to watch live.

Does anyone else have a problem getting the Eleven Sports USA schedule? I go to the US website at: http://elevensportsusa.com/whats-on/ but no programming ever shows up. I heard on another forum that they are going to carry the Ajax-Heracles match but on Monday night, two days after it is played. This is either filler programming or they don't want to pay for US same day rights.

Yes, the schedule is blank for me. I don’t see any Ajax games listed on the DirecTV guide. I think eleven has Eredivisie rights in the UK. Is it possible the other forum was confused between US and UK?

I've seen a lot of anger in the UK press over Tiger's exploits last weekend in the PGA Championship not being on terrestrial TV there. Eleven Sports was the sole outfit to meet the PGA's asking price over the BBC and Sky, which had broadcast the tournament previously. So the only way to watch it was via streaming. (Not ideal for an older fanbase for a sport like golf).

It won't surprise anyone reading this forum, but there were so major issues with the stream. According to viewers, the production itself looked cheap and amateurish, and it cut off at midnight UK time during the climax and viewers had to log back in. So the PGA met its revenue target, but the audience was tiny, and the people who got to watch it were not impressed with paying extra for a service that was demonstrably worse than what they were accustomed to getting.

Eleven Sports will also be the UK's exclusive carrier for La Liga and Serie A this season. Sky had to cut back on its expenditures due to paying more for Premier League rights, which is its bread and butter content.

I'm glad that they didn't get their hands on much in the USA because it looks like an earlier iteration of beIN. Follow a lot of English folks on twitter and I bet the complaints will be ramping up as seasons start.
