Disappointing to say the least. I know we wanna be the best, but the fact that we gotta face both USA and Mexico, who are the two best teams on paper, is frustrating to say the least
I'm Honduran bro I don't think that out B team can beat theirs, the only good thing about us is that we have a good offense but our defense has been shaky. I know that anything can happen but I'm pretty sure that our coach doesn't care if we win the next match since we are already qualified to next round. If it comes down to it I hope that you can knock out the USA.
Thanks. Just finished the first half. The boys came out overconfident. Man, Menjivar and Dominguez are some good centerbacks. Really exciting to see. Also, Marquez is someone that is needed in the NT, as he knows how to track back, hold the ball, take players on, etc. Exciting to see. CR beat T&T 1-0 off a FK Golazo. We tie T&T and we win the group. Im not saying they will, or that they should, but if we lose to T&T, we will most likely face Panama and Honduras. Those seem like better odds than Mexico and USA....
So Mexico beat Honduras 1-0. Honduras missed an early penalty. Damn. Tomorrow, USA vs SKN and Panama vs Haiti. If usa and panama tie/win, USA is in group D. If panama loses and USA wins, Panama is in Group D. Were gonna have it up against us.
USA will stomp SKN for sure, Panama might use their B team since they are already Qualified but even then I don't see Haiti beating them soundly if they do I predict that they tie.
Pretty much a done deal in terms of the groups in the next round. We could play for second but that's not the mindset you want to create in young players. Even when our feds ineptitude doesn't get in the way and the players actually perform you can then count on concacaf to screw us over.
Frustating Group D as well. First, USA vs Mex. Two days later, ES vs Mex Two days later, USA vs ES. You would expect the top of the group to have 4 days rest

They lost 2-1 but they clinched 1st place due to goal difference. Contreras scored the momentary equalizer. It was a nice reception and an even better finish. Nice through ball by Marvin Márquez... I hope you guys defeat the nads and qualify to the World Cup. US scores in the 29th min 1-0 US controlling the game so far, really limiting mexico to creating any chances
USA defeats Mexico 1-0. Those who watched the game, do you think ES has a chance against either team?
The USA basically crowded the midfield, limiting mexico's best players from really doing anything to the point (if i recall correctly) that mexico had no shots on goal. It was a team effort, and it wasnt like the USA was on defense the whole game, if anything they were controlling it and just didnt make their chances count( s/o to mexicos goalie - made crucial saves towards the end of the game to keep mexico in it) . Mexico just generally couldnt find a way to create anything but a factor was that Mexico didnt even play Aguilar (who is one of the most influential players on their squad imo) he rode the bench for some reason. But i mean, if el salvador plays with discipline, keep from making stupid mistakes and don't lose focus in their game i think they have a shot at pulling an upset. due to mexico is now under pressure to win, a draw really doesnt help so i think they'll be more inclined to attack from the start and maybe be exposed in the back. El salvador needs to ride out the first few minutes of the game and adjust to the game accordingly.
