Yeah, most of Tripsovsky's experiments this season worked, but this was really bizarre and clearly a failure. For what was meant to be a pure defense lineup they've looked far more competent in attack. Too late now though, so good luck in the Semis.
Not really. They're pressing really high and we've hit them on the counter a couple times otherwise we've been okay.
Well before the game I really questioned the inclusion of Pedro. Then the little Freddie Mercury lookalike goes and scores. But the second goal, how the hell does Pedro hit the post? Seriously, how does he the post from there????!!! Luckily the defender heads it into his own net Hazard has been hacked every time he is on the ball. No wonder he is having a quiet game. Piss poor marking from the corner and we give them a free header. Chelsea 4-1 up though, so I shouldn't complain too much.
That's good. Just like Spurs advancing (yuck, eww, repent) is good for us, means they get more matches too.
It was harder to miss than score. Honestly, might be the worst miss best own goal I've seen. Pedro to two yards off the post then off the defenders face and in. Glorious.
mostly i was being my of late snide anti-Sorri self Jorginho for sure regardless, hope RLC has won the role as he should. CHO attracts a double team and peels off defenders which really opens space, and he puts good balls into the box, of which we do not take advantage enough so my pick, but if not Sorri's , at last Peedro and Willian look fresher and more rested
We lost the second half 2-0. We had zero creativity and spent a lot of time passing the ball back to the keeper. It was terrible. Our players are still confused about the system they should be playing. Eintracht Frankfurt beat Benfica on away goals and they are our next opponents in the semi-final.
Just the facts: Chelsea became the first English side in history to win 11 games in a single European campaign as they beat Slavia Prague 4-3 No Chelsea player has scored more Euro goals in a single campaign than Giroud Chelsea must play better to win the Europa League
assuming we get past Frankfurt and Arse past Valencia, it's going to be an interesting time as battle for 4th CL spot would also be taking place.
