Many surprises. Terrible round 7 for me...

Hope round 8 is nicer to me...

    Chile 3-1 Bolivia
    Brazil 1-0 Colombia
    Venezuela 0-2 Argentina
    Peru 1-1 Ecuador
    Uruguay 1-0 Paraguay

Messi is out of Argentina apparently... I change my prediction to Venezuela 1-2 Argentina.

.. since when does Messi defend? Why would Venezuela score a goal all of a sudden, now that Messi is gone? Messi is not a Defender.. If Argentina was missing their Key Defenders, then I could see Venezuela scoring goals.. but Messi has nothing to do with Argentina's defense

    ?

Are you new to football? Not having to worry about defending with extra men, means certain midfielders and/or fullbacks will get the chance to move forward a bit more, which in turn might generate chances. Not sure why I have to explain this, it's pretty obvious.

You make a good point, but not all teams are Scared to attack Argentina with Messi on the field.. if i was a coach and i knew my team was playing against Messi, i still wouldn't change my line up to a defensive one.. Also im tired of people saying Argentina is only good with Messi on the field

Who says that? I certainly didn't. In fact they beat us without Messi in the group stages of Copa America. Then lost the final with Messi on the pitch.

@guri - how did you know that Uruguay was going to trash Paraguay?

I had some good scores, but Argentina, Chile made some surprises. 12 points for these two rounds. The winner needs 14,15 points.

Didn't add mine up yet, but I think I got more than 15. Guessed a few scores, for once.

Turns out I was too conservative with my prediction should have gone with the 2-2 I originally considered.

In October, we will have hard matches

    Paraguay - Colombia
    Ecuador - Chile
    Colombia - Uruguay
    Bolivia - Ecuador

Other matches seem easier to figure out. Seven teams will decide about the World Cup participants, only five places. Bolivia, Peru and Venezuela left behind so far. Ecuador is a big surprise. They are always unpleasant to meet with.:) Caicedo could get some penalties to score as before.:D Hosts don't lose points so easy.
