From what I could see, EJ was working pretty hard pressuring the ball defensively. He had a couple of chances that seemed to be keyed by his teammates' awareness of his speed. He tried to dribble himself out of a tight place once, beat a couple of guys then put the ball too far away and lost it. A little ragged but not without promise.

The pitch clearly diminished the quality of play. A lot of passes seemed off the mark due to bobbles.

That was some of the wackiest officiating I've seen in a while. That looked like a PK 99 times out of 100.

Debut or 2nd appearance, the point remains the same. EJ fizzled out of the Championship with no teams looking to buy or loan after Cardiff. He has no soccer IQ or touch. He'll be back with the Wizards in a year.

Ignoring the dismissive tone of your post, it's very unlikely that he'll go back to the Wiz or MLS. They just won't play him the wages he's looking for, whereas he's likely to get those from some team in Europe that likes his physical tools.

Now see, that's not really a point. Specific evaluation of play that is negative is fine. But this kind of drive-by generalization is not that and as such it's not welcome in a game-day thread, in particular.

True, certainly looked like it, though I'm not sure the defender actually touched him. (or the ball)

though, to be fair, the play was offside...so the ref blew the call for both teams

Missed it again! But def. going to watch it on torrent and comment on it afterwards. :)

The game vs. Panathanaikos sounds interesting.... I know Cisse since going to that team has been killing it. Lets hope aris kills them at home, and EJ gets his first goal. :)

You can debate whether that call should have been a PK, but to me it is obvious that the forward could have turned it into one very easily. If you watch, he flings his legs out of the way of the oncoming tackle. All he had to do was leave a leg in the way half a second longer and there would have been undeniable contact from behind.

It was really tough game. Too much power, nerves and very bad field.
Aris couldnt make 3 passes in a row that means a lot.
Everyone should focus at the big derby against Panathinaikos.
    Sold out for sure.

    Wow. Nice goal.

The field reminds of of the crappy fields you'd see in the 90s in the EPL! Yikes!

This is something that is not for discussion in a forum...

Let me just say that some stupid fans (of unknown identity) tried to take one of our banners, throwing rocks and flairs at Aris' fans. So we reacted to it and tried to chase them. That's why the invasion happened.

    Can't say much more...

well yes, now I am sure, thanks

by rule if any playable part (i.e. any part of the body but hand or arm) of the attacking player is beyond the 2nd to last defender the player is offside...looks to me like right shoulder, right leg and most of his torso are closer to goal than the back 2 defenders

    offside
