What a fail for this guy. I have never met a single person who went to a Galaxy game to see him play. Add his poor performances on the pitch, I have no idea how he was still marketable even until recently. Judging from twitter, Galaxy fans don't like him at all either. I wonder if Jona will follow him to his next team.
This is the big question now re: Gio. Waived? Loan? Transfer? Lump sum payment and then terminate the deal and make him a free agent? Loan seems the best option, and it would allow #lagalaxy to recoup some $$$. https://t.co/qimV6G9pez— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) March 2, 2019
talent gets you nowhere without the mentality and Gio is the perfect example, sadly he also ********ed up his brother's career but I doubt any of them cares they still got their money and SUM keeps getting them called up to the national team.
Ship’s sailed. How can you go form top prospect in the world to getting bought out by an MLS team. He’s an embarrassment to Mexico.
LMFAO! Pretty damn embarrassing getting the boot from a MMLS club. Gio might as well just hang it up for real already
Gio to Calcutta FC To be fair, Marquez looked finished in MLS, and he was older than Gio. He did have a very high level in 2014, even if he ********ed up in that one play. But I don't expect the same to happen to Gio.
He in theory can go on a cheap loan to an Euro team. I could see him going to a mid-low table team desperate to score in a "prove it" loan of sorts. It's more likely he'll sign with another MMLS, though.
This Aside from his stint at NY, Rafa was a true professional and maintained consistency. Even in last year’s WC, Rafa was in much better form than Gio

it is ridiculous how bad non DP players are in MLS. The crossing from that Chicago team is atrocious, like drunk Jurgen Damm bad.
What a play from the 16-year-old @efrain_alvarez1 👀@Dsteres44 gets things level at @dignityhealthsp! #LAvCHI pic.twitter.com/UqKYKp2IEd— LA Galaxy (@LAGalaxy) March 3, 2019
I wouldn’t mind young Mexican players going to the MLS, seems like they could get them playing time in a first division league. Definitely better than Liga Acenso. Uriel Antuna won’t amount to much tbh.
debatable but still I don't see a problem with U20 players starting in MLS as long as they leave as soon as they are 20 years old to play in a real league. Also Antuna just seems to be another flop, kid is just another Ulises Davila.
