Yeah but not Colombia, all the Caribbean capitals mainly. In Riohacha, Santa Marta and Barranquilla they drink that crap as if It was the fountain of Life.

Huh, kind of like Mexicans (norteños, mostly) with Buchanan's.

Actually, in the coast they drink a variety of whisky, Buchanan's, Johnnie Walker, Old Parr and others that I can't recall. But Old Parr tends to be cheaper so...

Old Parr 12yo is about 35-40 bucks around here. About 10-15 bucks more expensive than Johnnie Walker Black. Buchanan's is the cheapest.

Old Parr reminds me of a Miranovic quote about Rojano when he was coaching Junior.
"Mira como juega Rojano. No llega a nada, pero ponle una botella de Old Parr en el otro arco y verás como corre veloz"

The thing is that some (most honestly) of the liquor that arrives to the coast is from contraband or smuggled from Venezuela or Panama, so they sell it cheaper.

I cant drink that salmiakki stuff more than one shot, but it's original form, as a candy it's great. Salmiakki is the only ”food” that comes to my mind that is very typical here. Finland does not have an interesting food culture. I don't even know what people usually eat. Spaghetti, meat, rice, potatoes, vegetables and so on, the usual stuff, so not very Finnish. Colombia is a different story. Yes, I live in Helsinki. Kauppatori is not that far away but I only go there in summer.

Tell you girlfriend she's a bad ass!

She also brought me back some strange pastry as well as a Karelian pie. Did not care for it, not one bit... I miss Colombian food. It's been a while since I had any.

Oh, I completely forgot about that one, karjalanpiirakka (Karelian pie). Everybody likes those, except me. I guess I'm not Finnish enough.

Yeah, it was like cardboard to me.

I'm in California. There is a Colombian restaurant about 45 minutes away, and it's pretty good. Fantastic ajiaco, but expensive. There used to be a bakery that sold torta negra. I'd love to have some for Christmas. But they closed about a year ago... As for empanadas, I can only get Argentinian empanadas around here.

I don't support any Finnish team and I rarely watch the nt's games. I can't even name many players. I started to pay attention to the Finnish league when Alfredo Morelos was here but now he's gone. I was there in 1988 when Colombia played against Finland here in Helsinki, I was super happy Colombia won. Higuita scored a penalty in that match.

I was there but that particular game I saw on tv. People here still remember that match. They just don't want to talk about it, lol.

I had completely forgotten about that. And about Hidalgo who scored 4. Looked him up, he's still playing professionally in El Salvador.

He was so good, I thought he would be a future star. Just like that one defender, De la Cuesta or something. Too bad Falcao couldn't join the team because he was injured. It's impossible to predict the future players of that age, they all just disappear.

Yeah, you really can't tell at that age. Jose Julian de la Cuesta did alright. But yeah, not stars like they were as kids and seemed like could be destined for bigger things.

DelaCuesta was one of the earlier bunch to make the euro leap but injuries got in the way. Had big potential.
