Well he went to Europe to become a better player. This type of internal competition will push him further. Either he sinks or swims. Martinez is a great player, it's up to Edson to get better and take his spot, which I definitely believe he is capable of doing.
What about Alvarez as CD? Ajax still still looking vulnerable there. Do you guys feel he's better than Veltman at that position?
Against better teams I see Ajax going with Martinez-Alvarez in the middle. But in bunker style league play one of those two will need to be sacrificed.
Committed a penalty knowing Valencia's best player would miss and be low on confidence, Edson playing 4D chess. Seriously though he's been bad at timing tackles lately.

Ajax won 3-0 away so that's like picking out the "ugliest" woman at a Miss Universe. Or put another way, a waste of time to even thing of such things. Clearly the entire team did it's job and did it very well.
Well, both Lille and Valencia forgot to win a match it's not only necesary to scare the hell out of Onana, but also to put the ball in the net. Both teams get a load of chances to do so, but prefer to miss them.
Mi gente. My latest for @si_soccer and @SInow is a one-on-one with @EdsonAlvarez19, Mexico's present, future and his old soul personality. He chats about his family, Ajax and what defeaning out the noise. Disfruten.https://t.co/Ceu07UccWE— Luis Miguel Echegaray (@lmechegaray) October 3, 2019
Ajax beat ADO today, 0-2. Álvarez starts on the bench and gets a token few minutes when he's subbed into the match in the 89th.

Ajax was so shit, they were lucky to lead. The defense looked very bad against the last club in the league. True to Dutch tradition RKC simply attacked against Ajax (in other countries the last in the league park a fleet of buses) and Ajax escaped several times. So when the undeserved score was on the board they really needed him to secure it. Tells you alot about the Dutch league Ajax has to bring in a defensive option in a match against the last one to keep the undeserved victory.
