Castillo, who is wearing the number 1 shirt, made his Atlas debut last night going the distance in a 0-0 home draw against Tigres to open the 2014 Apertura. Atlas played up a man for the last 18 minutes. Highlights Castillo gets beat over the top at 1:00, but the chipped shot is cleared off the line. From Tom Marshall's write up at MLS Soccer: Left back Castillo – making his Atlas debut – linked well with left-winger Maikon Leite in the first 45 minutes, but was quieter during the second half. He did go over in the area in the last play of the game claiming a penalty, but the referee waved it away. During the 2014 Clausura, Castillo made 15 starts and 2 substitute appearances for Club Tijuana in Liga MX play. He picked up 4 yellow cards. He also made 3 starts and 1 substitute appearance during Club Tijuana's 2013/2014 CONCACAF Champions League campaign.

As a younger player, Castillo had a period where he was bouncing around a lot, but as a veteran he has really come into his own. Since arriving at Atlas, he's played every minute of every game, and the team has gone from a bottom-feeder to its current position in third place. His club career hasn't gotten the attention it deserves.
