This could make way for Greg Garza to get more time at Tijuana

Let's get some thread title suggestions fellas. You guys are slipping!

It'll be hard to top the "El Homie" Tijuana thread, some incorporation of "El Homie" into this one would be good.

Castillo, who is wearing the number 1 shirt, made his Atlas debut last night going the distance in a 0-0 home draw against Tigres to open the 2014 Apertura. Atlas played up a man for the last 18 minutes.

    Highlights

Castillo gets beat over the top at 1:00, but the chipped shot is cleared off the line.

From Tom Marshall's write up at MLS Soccer:

Left back Castillo – making his Atlas debut – linked well with left-winger Maikon Leite in the first 45 minutes, but was quieter during the second half.

He did go over in the area in the last play of the game claiming a penalty, but the referee waved it away.

During the 2014 Clausura, Castillo made 15 starts and 2 substitute appearances for Club Tijuana in Liga MX play. He picked up 4 yellow cards.

He also made 3 starts and 1 substitute appearance during Club Tijuana's 2013/2014 CONCACAF Champions League campaign.

It (#1) looks odd on a field player.

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Edgar Castillo went 90 minutes as Atlas came from behind twice to defeat Chiapas 4-2 at Estadio Jalisco on Saturday night.
Castillo featured in his usual left-back position, not bombing forward as much he is accustomed to, but was solid defensively and good in possession.
Castillo’s Atlas remain undefeated in the Apertura 2014 and have seven points from three....

    Highlights

Beaten on a back post cross for the first goal. The center back was ball watching on that goal as well though. Castillo picked up a 52nd minute yellow.

American Exports: Edgar Castillo, Atlas suffer first Apertura loss...
Edgar Castillo and Atlas fell 3-1 in Estadio Hidalgo to Pachuca on Saturday in their first loss of Liga MX's Apertura 2014.
Castillo was shaky in defense, failing to get in the way of hat-trick hero Matías Alustiza when he headed in the opener from a left wing cross one minute before halftime.
The US international – playing in his usual left-back position – was yellow-carded in the 52nd minute for a late tackle and had a difficult time up against Tuzos right winger Hirving Lozano.

As a younger player, Castillo had a period where he was bouncing around a lot, but as a veteran he has really come into his own. Since arriving at Atlas, he's played every minute of every game, and the team has gone from a bottom-feeder to its current position in third place. His club career hasn't gotten the attention it deserves.
