Me recuerda al Coco Perea. Ojala no sea tan HP y pechofrio. Ojo, me recuerda a las cosas buenas del Coco, no a las malas.
@Baal88 Is he in our NT (youth) radar? It will be a shame if the federation does not reach out to this kid.
I have no idea. Maybe they have, they usually do. It's like I've written before, to me this looks like another Vonlanthen case. He can speak spanish fluently and maybe has some attachment to Colombia, but in all seriousness, if you had the chance to play for Colombia or Italy who would you choose? Maybe it's just the cynic in me that thinks that if he ever plays for an NT it will be Italy unless he doesn't have the level to play there, in that case he will probably come begging for Colombia to call him.
i'd pick Colombia. but it depends on what you feel. But if he grew up in Italy it would probably be them for him.
We had a nice thread about this. Players in the end are mercenaries, they want glory and the chance of winning titles, and even if Italy aren't exactly the best team currently they have a lot more potential to win something than us in theory. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/mercenarios-en-la-selección.2031263/
I disagree. Colombia is currently more and potentially solidify our place as a top 10 soccer nation as country is focus on soccer infrastructure.
So... Will you finally give Up hope and erase this ********ing thread? https://www.instagram.com/p/BqPlj8uluK4/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=id5z3it70o6y
I don't want a player that doesn't consider us his first option. I hate mercenaries and even more, if he doesn't make It to Italy's senior team that would mean that he is barely good enough for us. We are not Bolivia, we don't need to call a player just because he has family here.
How is he a mercenary. We don’t have a coach and the U20 didn’t call him The cunntbucket of once caldas that’s was like rather play for Venezuela SNT then the Colombian U20 then didn’t get called and was like I want the Colombian team now. That guy is a douche. Our team and federation makes no attempt to bring guys from abroad that didn’t play in Colombia or Argentina. They are the fk ups
Recently Arturo Reyes did an interview and he said that they were making moves on him and several other players, the fact that just 15 days later he is playing with Italy and not us just confirms my theory that we are his second option.
I agree as well. You can’t expect this kid to wait around forever and he’s been in Italy practically his whole footballing career. I can’t blame him for not considering Italy a viable option. Especially if they’re actually showing interest unlike Colombia.
Colombia has shown interest. Reyes said that he wanted Inter to release him for the Sudamericano, that means that he has made contact with both player and club, but as I said before, just 15 days later he is playing for Italy. We are officially his second option.
crzd is still going to say that they haven't tried and repeat it a million times in different threads.
Baal was right after all. This guy was just a big tease. I hope Colombian media stop mentioning his name already.
Until he plays in an official match for Italy I think there will be always someone in the media who will bring his name up.
Just got up for the Italian Senior national team training camp. But not good enough to even call on the phone by our youth team (his results with the u20 should have gotten him fired). Because Reyes a shit coach is a jackass.
He didnt want to play with colombia, in the interview his dad is clear. That for the career of eddy italy was a better option than colombia. Even they recognized a called. Is different from the case of poveda. Jackass is repeat no sense.....without verifying facts in your hurry to discredit and bitch.
It seems pretty clear that the kid intended to play for Italy. What bothers me more is how most selecciones around the world have much clearer pipelines to the NT than we do. The kid has barely played any first division futbol, yet Italy is already grooming him. With us, you don't get called until you've become one of the best players in the league or transfer and get minutes abroad. That's gotta change.
Queiroz has mentioned something similar to this. Coming from his Youth National team background, he was shocked by how some players have not even been called up until their early 20s for training camps. Let's see if he can convince the Federation to do things a bit differently.
I do take it as a positive sign that he's attended some sub 20 concentrations. That said, right now this guy seems like somebody who knows everything to say and exactly how to say it.
Yes. It seems like the grooming of the youth and finding young gems domestically is something he did well in previous jobs too. It is the tactics and his in game strategies most people hate him for. I am hoping he has learned from his past mistakes.
