But seriously, I was just trying to keep discussions relevant to Crew to Austin in that thread as it is the most popular thread we've had since we hosted the 2015 MLS Cup (and I got pneumonia). My view is that many people who are keeping up with that thread would want to weigh in on the relevant political points. As I noted there, I think it's a worthwhile conversation to have. Anal retentive? My kids would probably agree. But, feel free to keep hitting 'reply' and I'll be sure to sort things out, much to my students' disappointment that their exam grades are a week late because I spent all my time cleaning up this mess.

Since I have rattled on about Kant and the Jews at the expense of true conversion regarding this glorious game, I will share a short memory from the event. As I posted earlier, Santafoos stood with us. At around 2-to-nil or 3-to-nil, Markus began to move around because he could not see the play on the field. A fellow supporter had moved in front of him. Markus shuffled around, said he could not see Crew, and then he moved to stand next to Santafoos (hence the picture). Markus very much gets into the game (go figure). Santafoos noticed and smiled. I beamed as the proud parent, and I told Santafoos that Markus loves the Crew. Santafoos smiled and said, "that is great!" With the weight of all of the bad news from the past few weeks, I stopped smiling and replied, "is it great?" A sad second or two passed, and then we returned to the moment to appreciate how our team was playing well that night.
