That swap for Luca, orchestrated by Petrachi, is looking worse and worse by the minute... Imagine the reaction on this board if Monchi had made that deal...
There's definitely more than meets the eye with the Luca Pellegrini deal. His agent is Raiola. Unsure how he swindled his way to Juventus, especially after an ACL tear.
Yes, it was a bad move but every DS make 'em and overall Petrachi has done a really good job, IMO. I'm not going to evaluate Petrachi performance on a single data point, just like I didn't evaluate Monchi on a single or even 2 transfers. Take the totality of their work and see how it adds up.
Hey idiot, the only reason Petrachi had to make that deal is to cover up one of the many mistakes made by that inbred scumbag Mongo during his 18 months at the club.
This isn't the end of the world. I've been advocating for Politano for years now but I've also said he's more of a squad player who is capable of playing big matches when needed. I also railed against the Spinazzola move but it's only been a few months, he's coming off a major injury and playing out of position. Neither of these guys are likely to move the needle too much.
The reason people here aren't being critical about Petrachi's work is the same reason they weren't critical about Moronchi's work: almost everyone on this board is a rebuilding-for-the-future junkie. They'll justify any abysmal transfer or coaching mistake by the golden excuse "It's for the future". None of them knows when that future is, obviously not this season, because immediate results aren't fashionable in this sub-forum. Roma could relegate to B and everyone will be smiles and pats on the back, as long as their building for the future fetish is fed by what the moron of the day is spilling in the media. For this whole Spina situation: we've just depreciated a 30mil. player or 20-25mil. if we are talking real market value Inter was ready to exchange for him. But they didn't, so this screams to the world a few things: 1. This player isn't worth the potential 20mil. Inter had to cough up for him after 15 APPREARANCES, which is basically being a starter for them to the rest of the season. 2. There were potential fitness issues with the player. 3. We're desperate to sell him. 4. He is ready to leave and not especially picky about the manner of leaving. 5. Loan in an option. Come summer the only offers for him will be a loan option from Fenerbahce whre Roma pays 70% of his salary and option to buy for 10mil. And that's how a smart Inter ********s a "smarter" Petrachi. We're 20mil. down by his stupidity already. In the meantime we're building for the future and accountability for poor work is always postponed for the future, the same way a lazy person would always start getting his shit together from "tomorrow". But until you clarify if that tomorrow is 18.01.2020 or not, tomorrow always changes dates. Typical loser mentality 101.
Inter probably got picky because they are about to get Young now instead of the summer. No need for two LBs so they suddenly wanted an option instead of an obligation to buy. And the only reason we wanted to get rid of him is to raise funds for a Zaniolo replacement. Nothing to overanalyze here.
We'll talk again in the summer when he's shipped for 0 euros and Roma pays the ticket to wherever he goes.
At the very least, Roma still has a competent LB that can now begin to fight for space. He's a contracted player, he will do his job.
The problem is you think Roma have a budget that they just don't have. Unless one of the oil-rich Middle Eastern countries buy Roma we'll never have that kind of money. Do people really expect a guy like JP or Friedkin to come in and annually dump 100 mil into a club. Forget FFP, nobody is going to do that, for a guy like Friedkin that's 2.5% of his total worth... not income his entire net worth. These guys don't get to be billionaires by pissing their money away. They also aren't going to leverage the team so bad they lose money when the do sell. I'm just not sure where you think the money is going to come from so Roma don't have to sell players.
Matrims already admitted he doesn’t watch games this season, so take that into account when you read his rants lmao
