This is all just small potatoes until Westside gets his site up and running with my unique brand of Dynamo commentary. But seriously, if we want coverage we have to find ways for folks to make a living doing it outside of the Chronicle or at least make enough for a nice side income - so support Keeper Notes and others. After all, if we lose good Dash coverage who do I have to argue with?

35 year subscription to Manila Chronicle cancelled effective Mar 5. The very nice lady with a filipino accent named Crystal did try to get me to transfer the subscription, offered a lower amount for the same service (R U telling me you've been overcharging me all this time?), keep the digital subscription. Took 5 minutes but I feel refreshed by not having to read Lisa bloody Falkenberg any more.

I know we have some high standards around here, and rightfully so, but we haven't been anywhere near disastrous. Ask DC fans, or Rapids or Fire fans their version of disaster and compare it to our 3 seasons of missing the playoffs. Hell, ask any LA fans circa 2008. Hit up Alicia Rodriguez on Twitter and try to explain to her that we've been a disaster. We've been mediocre folks. Let's call it for what it is. It's not good enough for us but we have yet to hit disaster level bad.
No problem with your statement. "Disastrous" and "Mediocre" are both qualitative terms that may have different meanings to different people. According to the quantitative method you must be using, "mediocre" is less harsh than "disastrous". I don't disagree with your belief that the term MEDIOCRE is appropriate to define the Houston Dynamo's performance of the last few years. Yup, Naranja, we have had MEDIOCRE past few seasons.

He's an idiot. English guy who came into town last season and started covering the team knowing none of the background and pissed everybody off. Then he moved somewhere. You are seeing his biggest problem right there in that tweet. He knows none of the history, but acts authoritative anyway and would argue his point vehemently. To anyone who knew the history, he always sounded like a dumb ass, but that didn't stop him from charging full speed ahead.
Separately, with Ortiz gone, the Chron coverage of the Dynamo seems to have gotten better. Corey Roepken has done a number of solid pieces in the past couple of weeks and Jerome Solomon even stopped to do one.
