Dilrosun struggled with injuries since his debut for you guys. He's been back to full fitness for about a month now and contributed three magnicifient goals and two assists in the last four matches. If he can manage to stay fit, more are certain to come.
Imagine if Dilrosun and Malen had stayed with Ajax!!!! Instead they wasted some developmental years in England
Yup, and now the English kids noticed the progress lads like Mason Mount made in the Eredivisie they choose moving to the Netherlands (but also Germany) instead of signing a prolongation of their youth contracts. It's a bit sad for them that ends soon after Brexit.
Anybody tracking El Ghazi. Picked up two assists against Norwich and has become a player on form for Aston Villa. Can he make it back to NT. He also is versatile and play on both flanks.
Donyell Malen's stats this season for PSV (after a double today): 9 Eredivisie games, 10 goals, 1 assist 8 European games, 6 goals, 4 assists. Total: 17 games, 16 goals and five assists. L-E-T-H-A-L. I knew this kid is going to be great... but I am surprised by how quickly he has embraced the main striker role and goal-getter. Bright future. On a somber note... Ihattaren’s ill father has passed away. RIP.
Saw the first half of Inter v Juve. De Ligt conceded a silly penalty (awkwardly raised his arms and handled the ball). Other than that incident, he did okay. Had several headed clearances and had decent touches on the ball. De Vrij did well, played as the last man standing in Inter's 3-man defense, at times he seemed struggling with the pace of the game (Dybala and C. Ronaldo were quite lively).
Funny we're only talking about Dest, while we have German/Dutch wingback that has to be capped by either country, namely Gosens:
Is this Robin Gosens from Atalanta (Italy)? I noticed his name before, when a few times I checked out Hateboer and De Roon... but didn’t investigate further as it said he has Germany listed as his nationality. Would be cool to “steal” one from the German, probably never happened before...
both him and hateboer are playing wingbacks at atalanta and some how are not considered good enough to play at fullback. thats a norm in eyes of dutch selectors
Robin Gosens is doing very well this season at Atalanta! He is a complete full back: he can defend quite well, but he shows his best when he goes forward, providing a lot of assists and also goals that make hime one best left backs in Serie A this season. He holds dual citizenship, so i think he should be capped for Netherlands as soos as possible before Germany does!
Ghana has reached out to 5 dutch players and had positive conversations. I have a feeling Boadu will be switching allegiance soon. He isn't ready for Oranje yet but has little patience.
That would be horrible. He is really proud of being Ghanian so it could happen, but I think he’ll stay loyal to Oranje for now. The German coach recently capped two players just to cap tie them for the future. I don’t know why the Netherlands seems to be the only country in the world that doesn’t do this.
I guess Cody Gakpo, Brian Brobbey, Robin Polley, and Leeroy Owusu were the other four that talked with Ghana
If we have to force them this way I donot want them anyway. The only way to get into the shirt is by deserving it, not because of some game playing around dual passports. Let's face it. If one chooses to pass on the glamour of the Orange shirt, the anticipation worldwide of great football when the Orange play, the worldwide respect you get as a member of the Orange Lions and the financial spin off that comes with being an Orange player in favour of some obscure African national team, corrupt FA's, asshole "supporters", shit accomodations and lousy (climate/time of play/travel time etc.) conditions.....good luck than.
I believe the FIFA regulations specify that player is bound when he appears in an official competition and not a friendly. Serginho Dest played in two friendlies for the US two months ago and is still eligible for the Dutch NT. Should Koeman play a bunch of players in the final Euro qualifier just to lock them in? If they lose that match (unlikely) they might not finish first in the group.
I don't believe in cap tying just for the sake of it. I feel players will always perform better if they are playing on a team because they want to be there and love the team rather than just because they want to be an international. The Netherlands NT is worth working for.
Boadu is within touching distance to his first cap in Oranje shirt - and by all accounts, he seems to have bright future in the Netherlands NT. He will be part a young Oranje team that is about to rock the world, and he will be joined by his AZ teammates. If he is not clear-headed (smart) enough to figure this out, maybe he doesn’t have what it takes to succeed at the next level... The rest of the kids... well, I hope they have patience. They are yet to break through their club’s first teams. Gakpo is a stud.
After seven games in Bundesliga, Weghorst has four goals and two assists. It'a shame he isn't in the oranje squad.
There are some more that are ahead of him. I actually wonder why we have a battering ram need, when we have de Ligt and van Dijk that could fill in that task perfectly.
