    NEVER!

If I had my way, we'd wear the "allsorts" strip (which we use as this season's "away" strip) every match.

Good performance from Dumbarton on Saturday. Wasn't too much between the teams but Dumbarton were just that bit more clinical in front of goal.

I made a comment regarding Dumbarton's lack of goals earlier in the season but McShane, Walker and Gilhaney have been on great scoring form recently and have really made Dumbarton a different team. Obviously, the new manager has sorted them out all over the park as well.

Can't see Dumbarton being anywhere near relegation come the end of the season.

Would love to see a Bobby Linn and Jon McShane front line in this division although I suspect neither will be playing 2nd division football next season.

I think we can be pretty sure that McShane won't be returning on loan for next season. St Mirren are shite and will want a player that's doing well to come back to them and see how he does there.

Derek Carcary is in talks with Brechin City so I assume he'll be gone next season too. Also, we have Jordan Halsman, Craig McLeish and Jordan White on loan and Nicky Devlin has signed a pre-contract with Motherwell so they'll all be gone next season.

It'll be interesting to see what we look like next season, but a lot of that will obviously depend on who is in charge of the club next season as we still don't have a permanent manager in place. Obviously, due to the part time nature of the club, all of our current squad's contracts will expire in the summer so a properly appointed manager will be required to begin deciding who should stay and who should go in preparation for next season.

Alan Adamson gets my vote for manager as he's shown he can motivate the squad and get the best out of these young lads. He also found our strongest XI very quickly and stuck with it, which is something his predecessor was unable or unwilling to do over the 3 seasons he was in charge.

i was waiting for yer input... completely forgotten mcshane was on loan. oh well.

Alan Adamson should be the man. If he isn't kept in charge something is rotten in Dubmarton.

I'd agree, mate. I can't see any reason, from my outsiders perspective obviously as I'm not privvy to the club's internal workings, why he shouldn't be given the job for next season. We're playing well and attractive football and our results are much better than before.

It would be lunacy by Dumbarton not to give Adamson the job. I think most people would have had Dumbarton down as certs for relegation when he took the job. And more than that, I think most people would have said Dumbarton had the worst squad in the league at the point as well. Just shows what a decent manager can achieve with the same group of players.

We're in a similar, although probably less extreme, position with John Robertson. He's come in and made us a lot tougher to beat and got us picking up more points and away from the relegation zone. We've just tied him up for next year and I think it's a great move by the club.

Can't disagree with any of that, Gordon. We were tipping ourselves for relegation but the lads have shown they have the ability. I'd resigned myself to the drop back in November and thought I'd just write off the season, go along and watch the gane but always know we were cannon fodder. But now I go to ganes with optimism and belief. We also play a good brand of football to watch so even defeats are made more bearable by that.

I really enjoyed watching the Fife under Crawford, I thought he had them playing some great stuff in attack, but his defense wasn't great and he's eventually paid for that. Hope things improve under Robbo sufficiently that we both are still in Division 2 next season as I like games against East Fife.

You can't say East Fife-Dumbarton games aren't action-packed anyway. Dumbarton just edged this season's four games, on aggregate, 11-10.

Thankfully we don't play East Fife again either, after all, they beat us 6 nil at their place earlier this season.

for what it's worth, I still think we'll stay up.
