Went the full match and was very active as Scunthorpe won 2-0. 27' The latest corner is cleared only as far as Holmes, who took down with a brilliant touch before driving into the area. #UTI (0-1)— Scunthorpe United FC (@SUFCOfficial) November 22, 2016 54' Great break from the Iron as Daniels distributes to Wiseman, who then finds Holmes. He beats three before his low cross is cleared. #UTI— Scunthorpe United FC (@SUFCOfficial) November 22, 2016 59' Good play from the Iron as Holmes steals the ball, Smallwood and Morris exchange before Hopper challenges the 'keeper for the ball. #UTI— Scunthorpe United FC (@SUFCOfficial) November 22, 2016 64' More brilliant play from Holmes as he skips down the right before winning a corner. #UTI (0-1)— Scunthorpe United FC (@SUFCOfficial) November 22, 2016 79' CHANCE! One-touch football from the Iron with Holmes eventually squaring to Mantom who stabbed an effort wide of the post. #UTI (0-1)— Scunthorpe United FC (@SUFCOfficial) November 22, 2016
The kid is very talented, just needed to find some consistency. If Scunthorpe can win promotion this season, it would be a great situation for him. I hope they can maintain their lead.

And he scores: GOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL! pic.twitter.com/3YZXtPoZAh— Scunthorpe United FC (@SUFCOfficial) November 26, 2016 ...to keep the move alive. The ball came in from Morris with Holmes getting the slightest header to see the ball nestle in the corner. #UTI— Scunthorpe United FC (@SUFCOfficial) November 26, 2016
Started in the Checkatrade Trophy match: ⚽️ This evening's teamsheets... #UTI pic.twitter.com/7fYzFjrKud— Scunthorpe United FC (@SUFCOfficial) December 6, 2016 Ended up playing 50 minutes.
Started and went 66' as Scunthorpe fell to Rochdale. 66' SUB: Double switch for the Iron as Luke Williams and Sam Mantom come on for Duane Holmes and Conor Townsend. #UTI (2-0)— Scunthorpe United FC (@SUFCOfficial) December 10, 2016
Starts and goes 50' last week, and starts and goes 66' this week. Can only make some assumptions about fitness???? No insight or facts, to be fair, but does look strange.
He does get subbed out a lot and it seems to be always happening early (before the 75th minute mark).
I can't comment on the other times, but this was from this week's press conference: ...and Duane Holmes twisted his ankle just before he came off also."— Scunthorpe United FC (@SUFCOfficial) December 15, 2016
Boo!, to having documented reasons why he came out...instead of just letting us randomly and cynically guess as to why.
On the bench: IRON SUBS: Anyon, Wiseman, Williams, van Veen, Mantom, Smallwood, Holmes.— Scunthorpe United FC (@SUFCOfficial) December 17, 2016

Some nice fan comments from several weeks ago: - Duane was my MOM last night, he was like a Malaysian Firefly darting here and there covering every blade of grass on the Posh pitch. His runs with the ball, his intelligent movement off the ball. The Posh players were bemused, the Iron faithful enthused and Duane was a masterful. I believe this was his best game for Iron and we will see so much more of his talent in the games ahead. - Holmes is a final pass away from being the best player in this league. Skips by players with ease, often several at a time. - Easily the best player on the pitch last night IMO, this guy really be the real deal, if he carries on like this much bigger things beckon for him.
