They count, just not as a tiebreaker. Holmes might be out, but this game rules. 2-3 on the night, 3-3 aggregate.
Think it was purely tactical. Was playing as a deep central mid, his sub came on as an attacking mid. Fortunately for him his team staged an epic comeback and will be playing John Terry's Aston Villa in the play-in game. Unfortunately for him his team crushed Leeds after he was subbed. He was -2 for goals during his time over the two legs, his team was +3 with him out. Would love to see him play in the final but would be surprised too...
Because he was struggling, physically as well as tactically. On the physical side, this was only his third game back after a five-game layoff and he hasn't gone the distance in any of them, which suggests that he may not be fully fit. Tactically, playing an RM as a deep-lying CM in a playoff game is a bit of a stretch, all the more so when you are already behind from the first leg.
Yea, not sure what Lampard wants from him. In the ~110 minutes I saw of his play over the series he played maybe 20 minutes nominally stationed on the right of an attacking midfield three, then he moved central. Second game he was definitely central and the deepest mid as well. To me that seems to highlight his weaknesses and negate his strengths but Lampard has his team through to the finals, so who am I to judge. As previously noted, I'd be very surprised to see him start the final. Can't believe too we have a Terry Lampard final. Hold onto your wives!
Another day, another post that turns into a USMNT pool player ... oh, wait, already made this joke on the Tyler Boyd thread. https://gallery.mailchimp.com/78d35...oncacaf_Gold_Cup_Preliminary_Lists_May_20.pdf
Another player I was told would never see the likes of the USMNT under Gregg Berhalter because of Corey Baird.
So I’m taking this that he’s at least going to be at the pre-Gold Cup camp. On that basis, day is off to a good start. Now, to shake off that amaro from last night. Why do i this to myself? On a Monday, no less.

From Derby's prematch guide: Martyn Waghorn is having his fitness monitored after missing the semi-final clashes against Leeds United with an Achilles injury. The striker is now back in training, as is midfielder Duane Holmes, and both could make the matchday squad. Must be incredibly frustrating
I think he must be injured still, probably the reason he was taken off in the 44th minute last week. I know he didn't have a great game, but you don't make a substitution one minute before half time without an injury.
A horrific goal keeping error makes it 2-0 to Villa in the 60th minute. Duane will likely be staying in The Championship next season
Agony for Derby. Goalkeeper error gifted Villa a 2-0 lead. They got one back and dominated the last 20 minutes, doing everything but scoring. What a whirlwind for Holmes too. Gonna he so hard for him to compartmentalize what he and his team are feeling right now. Hope he crushes this camp
Not the worse thing for him. Mount will likely be returning to Chelsea. Holmes seems to have Lamps trust. Should get a lot of PT next year.
