And Homes get an assist! Collects the ball at the MF circle, makes a nice run up the middle and slots a perfect pass for James Vaughn. Great play. I think we're gonna be seeing a lot more of Holmes and his pretty face.
As mentioned above... 82' #HTAFC 1-1 #BFC PENALTY TO TOWN! Duane Holmes breaks from Blackpool's corner and plays in Scannell, who is tripped by MacKenzie!
That was another nice run and pass by Holmes. And apparently he should have been the one to take the PK.
Yeah, it would have been entertaining even without a Yank. Holmes does not lack for confidence. Very willing to try things and take players on and very comfortable with the ball at his feet.
No more jokes about looking like he should be hanging out with Prince or being really pretty or his last name or his Jheri curl - this kid is a player.
He appeared to have free reign. His assist came from the left flank. His set-up of the PK came from a center run and he whipped in a cross from the right. I have no idea what his optimal position is. But he certainly appears to have the wheels to be a good flank mid.
has Duane already confirmed that he is interested in playing for the USMNT? The kid was MoM today. Huddersfield fans love him.
"I've always wanted to represent the United States because I am American and that's where I'm from," Holmes stated emphatically. "I've always had my heart set out on playing for America, to be honest." http://www.yanks-abroad.com/content.php?mode=show&id=9862
Marc Conneely (@marc_conneely) 9/27/13, 6:36 PM @DuaneHolmes I was born in Hudds & live in California. Watched the game with American friends on TV, all said "can Duane play for the USA ? ---------- Duane Holmes (@DuaneHolmes) 9/27/13, 6:39 PM @marc_conneely it's my dream
Man, he was good, but he wasn't THAT good! You'd think they could have gotten a groupie to perform that task after the game.
He's been with Huddersfield since the U-9 level and is quite attached to the club. He will likely move on eventually but he's happy now and won't move on for any offer for the sake of moving
Yeah I get what you're saying but when an 18 yr old makes the kind of impact he is (best player on the field by a distance in both of his appearances) some solid EPL clubs are eventually going to come calling if he keeps it up.
havent really followed huddersfield before, but they seem to have had a bright start to the year. do they have a reasonable chance of promotion? it would be nice to see him reach the epl that way.
wow, so many good players coming up and all under 5'8....Homes (5'6), Green (5'7), Arriola (5'6), Flores (5'7) etc.
