Speaking of Frank, he spoke about Duane this week and why he hasn't featured yet

"He had an injury at Scunthorpe," said Lampard. "I think he played half an hour of their first game of the season but having had an injury and having joined a new club, he needs a little bit of bedding in time in terms of fitness and probably environment. He has trained with us every day and is doing extra work, so hopefully very soon he is fit to be in amongst it."

If not an assist, at least a key pass on the last goal:

    Interview from the club:

    https://www.dcfc.co.uk/news/2018/09/holmes-settling-into-life-at-derby-county-well

“There was interest from other clubs in the summer and my agent mentioned Derby County. He said that if I had the chance to play under Frank Lampard then I must take it,” Holmes commented.

“I had been at Scunthorpe at 12noon and by 2pm I was at Derby’s training ground and was having a conversation with the manager. I grew up watching Frank Lampard so I was a bit starstruck, but I’m used to it now."

This might be one of the most underrated moved for YA's this offseason. Great chance to learn from Super Frankie. Here's hoping he stays fit and making the 18.

For me the absolute CM legend was Andres D'Allessandro. Every time I would start a new career, he would be my first purchase and would just kill it as my #10 after a season of settling in.

Strange game thus far. Derby players have scored 4 goals to Chelsea's 0.

Too bad two of those went into their own net.

    2-2 through 30 mins

Apparently he got his chance and he took it- here are some comments from Derby supporters:

any reason were playing a winger with no league appearances for us in midfield when we have loads of them ? Any reason we didn't bring on Johnson and stick him out wide when Waghorn came off? Well Holmes has been one of our best players so far, so I'm guessing that's a reason?

Ref is awful. one positive Holmes looks decent compared to mount he’s going to get some stick but think he’s been decent

Holmes has only been outpassed by Huddlestone in terms of numbers and has a found a Derby player with 90% of them. He's been coming deep to help Hudds find space and has been covering for both fullbacks. He's been class in this half.

Holmes has been good imo, have to say we have missed Tomori and especially Mount first half. Malone should start at home, Forsyth slows our play down to too much.

More positively, massively impressed by Holmes and Huddlestone as per. Lawrence and Forsyth... less so.

Loving Holmes today. Always looking to get the team on the front foot by driving at the Brum players or playing a ball into a forward's feet.

Forsyth with the assist. On the back of some excellent play that had previously seen a good save from Camp after a Holmes shot. Holmes has been SUPERB at the start of the second half. He is making everything happen.

Never in doubt, wouldn't surprise me if we get 3 or 4. Holmes is the best player on the pitch by the way!!

Holmes' transitions in midfield today have been better than Mount's all season.
