ehh, it was free transfer. Actually both were free so not like we are spending our TAM (TAM is the right acronym right?). We have what one or two more signings probably to happen during the window, wonder if Jeb is still on the list. Kinda bummed we haven't gone into the NASL to sign some talent during this transfer period.
I think that is an underrated part of why this signing isn't that great; it uses an international spot. He doesn't seem to be a defender that will have that much impact (I could and wish I'm deeply wrong). Seems we could have found a young American defender to take a flier on.
Not sure why we are not finding some players in NASL, and yes....non international players as well. Looking like Boxall will most likely be the right full back.
Haven't read anywhere that we have the option to buy after the loan? Would enjoy this move much better if we have that option.
No Brovsky Note: #MNUFC declines to re-sign Jeb Brovsky, a MLS veteran who endeared himself to Loons fans in NASL last season. https://t.co/RFklrGEcgj— Andy Greder (@andygreder) July 19, 2017
Not a popular opinion but I would like to see Ibarra follow Demidov out the door. Way too much salary for not having any impact.
http://www.startribune.com/goalkeep...minnesota-united-s-official-roster/436598243/ Goalkeeper John Alvbage no longer on Minnesota United's official roster The Loons, with Shuttleworth and backup Patrick McLain as their two keepers on the roster, are in the market for a third one before this transfer window runs out Aug. 9. Goalkeeper Alex Kapp, a Creighton and Boston College product whom Atlanta United FC drafted in the third round this year but didn't sign, has been training with United and could be a possibility. The 22-year-old New York native is 6 feet, 190 pounds.
I was thinking the same thing. It is problematic to rate Jamaica's individual defenders when they park the bus (play nine behind the ball and stay compact), though.
I have read that MNUFC has no immediate plans to sign any DP's. Why?? And when do they plan to start signing DP's? Inquiring minds want to know.
Most certainly starters: Thiesson, Calvo, Ramirez, Molino Yes, but getting old: Cronin, Ibson Depth and can start: Kallman, Ibarra, Shuttleworth, Warner, Burch(but old), Greenspan, Taylor Still young or new and don't know: Danladi, Nicholson, Boxall, Martin Meh, and see some of them gone at the end of the season, or on loan.: Justin Davis, K. Venegas, Johan Venegas, Jome, Kadrii
From the Town Hall meeting they had this week, they said they would like to have their "core" first, and are really wanting to get the DP signings right. They said they are probably going to be looking to sign one or two next season.
BREAKING: #MNUFC has re-signed Marc Burch for 2018. The 33 y.o. LB was due to hit free agency. Expect a raise from his current $135k salary.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) August 3, 2017
The sense I got from #MLSAllStar Week is that #MNUFC is looking at loan and short-term options this window. Bigger pieces in winter.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) August 4, 2017
Can confirm. From what I've heard, the league is considering up to $2M/team next year. Would be usable on "young players," per sources. #MLS https://t.co/Q3TjysN0ep— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) August 2, 2017
#MNUFC adds Alex Kapp (@AlexKapp_14) to its goalkeeping contingent: https://t.co/Un1wtIfiwP (plus some other notes)— Megan Ryan (@theothermegryan) August 8, 2017
BREAKING: #MNUFC is 'close' to loan agreement for Costa Rican intl LM José Leitón (24), per sources. Likely to include purchase option. #MLS— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) August 8, 2017
I'm also hearing #MNUFC was offered former Arsenal midfielder Matthieu Flamini, but did not act. Flamini, 33, is currently a free agent.— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) August 8, 2017
Read with caution and be weary of the source. Hearing of a strange trade between Portland and Minnesota I only half believe. Let's wait and see if anything happens— MLS Transfers (@MLSTransfers) August 9, 2017
