Received all 4 now. I also have all teams from Excape Goat and Titanlux, and one line-up has arrived from msioux recently.
All of msioux's have arrived now, so other than La-Maquina's, it's just the selections of poetgooner and Peru FC that are still to be confirmed for the opening games. I might even get a few match-ups posted today later on, since there are fixtures with both teams confirmed already. I'll send out 'score cards' via PM, so that nobody misses any games they can vote on (which is every game your own teams aren't involved in). I'll send my own estimations to Puck via PM too, but maybe there is no need to post them later (like I said anyone is free to reveal votes after results are announced or even at the end of the tournament). We can discuss results which can lead to people revealing their votes somewhat possibly anyway though. We can move all the chat over to the new discussion thread now too if you like....
I'm running a Peruvian Draft, here. Maybe, a very specific one, but we're missing a one manager more to make 8 drafters. I'm planning to start next weekend. Cheers!
It has been a long time since a regular draft is not organized (at least not in this subforum), so I propose to organize one and I want to probe how many would be interested in participating to be able to carry it out. Apart from the draft that is carried out in the Peruvian subforum, I'm also participating in another of another forum that has a simple but effective rule to create the need of a certain strategy in the selection (there it is only based on the FA Premier League, but here we could adapt it to an all-time worldwide criterion). It's a Chain Draft. It means, it starts with a first round of free selections, but the following must be linked to that first one and in this case that chain is that they have played in at least one of the clubs in which the previous one played (at least one official match). This is an example of a chain selection in the English draft: 01. Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United) 02. Michael Carrick (West Ham United, Swindon Town, Birmingham City, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United) 03. Gareth Bale (Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur) 04. Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur, Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City, Leicester City) 05. Teddy Sheringham (Millwall, Aldershot, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Portsmouth, West Ham United, Colchester United) 06. Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham Hotspur) 07. Toby Alderweireld (Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur) 08. Graeme Le Saux (Chelsea, Blackburn Rovers, Southampton) 09. Shay Given (Blackburn Rovers, Swindon Town, Sunderland, Newcastle United, Manchester City, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Stoke City) 10. Fernandinho (Manchester City) 11. Bacary Sagna (Arsenal, Manchester City) To form this team (4-4-1-1 system): Given - Sagna, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Le Saux - C. Ronaldo, Fernandinho, Carrick, Bale - Sheringham - Kane Obviously, in the example only what is done in England is taken into account, but the idea can be understood and be extrapolated for a general criterion. The draft would have 2 stages for the results: - The first would be a ranking based on the vote of all participants about which is the best final team (and which have the best defense, midfield, attack and/or overall squad). - The second would be a quick tournament and for that every participant would select between 15 to 18 players (I would implement some ideas to create the need to use them all or almost all). Please, let me know who would be interested. @babaorum @Bestie @comme @condor11 @cr7torossi @Diez @el cabezon @Excape Goat @heroearaucano @Holy__Joe @Karloski @La-Máquina @leadleader @msioux75 @PDG1978 @Pipiolo @peterhrt @poetgooner @Sammer's Hammer @socrates83 @Steller @thebigman @Titanlux @tLB Odiseo @Tom Stevens @wm442433 If you know someone who perhaps wants to participate, tag him please.
Sure. Well, probably (as long as the deadlines aren't too quick and I don't need to be picking late evening).
We can handle GMT hours, of course. So far we are 6 participants: Diez La-Máquina PDG1978 Perú FC thebigman tLB Odiseo I hope we can reach a minimum of 8.
I'm in mostly because he used my team as the sample I agree, a world-wide chain draft is much too easy. Need some limitations. This is a good start.
That would be a good rule, but it would practically exclude the one-club men. What do you think if we establish that we cannot relate more than 2 times with the same club?, and if you wanted to make it even harder we could also establish that can be chosen only 2 players per country. So far we are 8 participants: Diez heroearaucano La-Máquina PDG1978 Perú FC poetgooner thebigman tLB Odiseo
I think it makes the game better because not every team is 11 world class elite level players potentially and you have to think about how you would set up and cover the weak links
In addition I plan to establish the ban of one player per side per game for the tournament, so it will create the need to build a squad that can resolve the absence of any player in any position in a match (a player could only be banned once and the rival would choose him).
He's usually a though opponent in these games with a particular and identifiable style, very adept at the 3-5-2 system and from the paradise Curaçao. We could make similar introductions.
