That's your opinion. I respect it, but I don't agree.

Temoc doing well in club and country even at that time shows that talent isn't necessarily affected while playing in MLS. Even Jona has kind of contributed to this as he played solid versus Costa Rica after having played a month with the Galaxy. Yeah, the Galaxy is playing like shit (which I'm loving), but Jona showed he can still play well in the NT in the last qualifier despite this.

Dude, Jona just arrived. In 7+ months, his contributions very well could be a different story.

And playing decent isn’t the same as playing at the highest possible level.

As I said before with Cuauh, he was able to stay at an ok form when he was with Chicago because he was football crazy, Jona and these other guys clearly have extra intentions for living in southern LA when they joined MLS.

Granted, football might not be their priority, same could be said with Vela. But to say having that kind of attitude will automatically affect your play on the NT is still not correct.

As long as Jona maintains good NT play, I'm fine. I'd say the same for Gio, but he has lost his great NT form and I think he won't regain it ever again. Jona, however, can prevent himself from ever losing it.

    It affected Gio very quickly

But, of course, this is off topic so—

    They lose again, 2-1.

slightly off topic but has Gio affected the TV ratings and/or attendance enough to justify his signing?

Gio had a terrible season leading up to him going to MLS. Blanco was bossing it as usual when he made the move, he was one of the main reasons America made it to the final that season before he left.

If you compare the t.v. ratings to other mls teams possibly but vs Liga MX not at all.

Attendance at first, but their shitty play in the last year and a half has brought it down from where it was at when he first signed. I don't think it changed too much when they signed Jona.

Ratings haven't really changed, I think.

attendance to MLS is good because tickets are cheap and always given away. Imagine asking an American to pay $150 for a regular MLS seat. Not going to happen.

Even at reasonable prices they don't sellout every game. That's why it was so surprising to see Atlanta post up huge numbers for a new franchise.

I like that Atlanta really exceeded expectations for an expansion team. It will keep my team on their toes, which is a good thing.

I'm hoping Carson finishes with less than 33 points, for no particular reason. :sneaky:

Still want Gio/Jona to play well though.

September 30: Giovani and Jonathan played the whole 90 minutes in a 1–1 draw with Real Salt Lake. Youngster Raúl Mendiola was subbed in in the 92nd minute.

The game ended with a 3–0 Galaxy win. Jonathan played the whole game and scored a goal while Gio was subbed out in the 90th minute. Gio assisted the first goal.
