Shhhhh Watch out for Gio fanboy/apologists living in the past that feel he can still contribute something to the team
I saw an interview where Jona says he's never seen Gio so focused on the game, himself, etc... Jona says Gio is the first one at practice and the last one to leave. He says he's never seen him do so well at any other point in his life. But is this mofo even playing though????
This. But even if it was actually true, the bottom line is performance in official matches. Having the best attitude is not enough, you have to give results.
remember how great gio played in the lead up to 2010 when Jona was on the team (against italy i believe?). or how great he played in the first few years of chepo-gate. seems like a hazy dream at this point.
I can easily understand Vela and maybe Gio going to MLS, but Jonathan to Galaxy was the biggest mind******** for me.This guy fought for years trying to prove himself he belongs in the best team at the time
Yeah, but Pineda has been mediocre-to-bad with the NT so far and Pizarro hasn't fared that much better (plus hasn't he had issues with one of Osorio's assistants?) They lack international experience, at least to be deemed as sure things going to Russia. And Osorio has not really given J-Gon minutes to prove himself. At least on Gio's case you have guys like Chucky, Corona, Vela and Aquino to rely on.
Jona has that la masia style that gives which skill wise gives him the advantage over most liga mx players. Whether people like it or not, Jona is needed in the NT. and his work ethic is good unlike his brother
