Lando seems to be playing within his capabilities in his first three games, not trying too much yet, keeping it simple.Kind of like Beckham at Milan
finished 3-0 ... don't think this is up in English yet http://www.fcbayern.t-com.de/de/akt....php?fcb_sid=77eee3fed4e9fc7304dbab66e741aa2f
I've watched the 2nd half of the snow game on German sport channel DSF because a friend of my brother (the Eintracht goalie) plays for Bamberg (the city - which is the nr. 2 in German basketball after Berlin - is about 60 km's away from me). Donovan looked very promising ... but well, this game against the brave amateurs can't serve as a rule, since Eintracht Bamberg is 14th of the 4th league. http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/wettbewerb/RL2/regionalliga-sued/uebersicht/menue_rs/startseite.html
Thanks, Borussia. Do you have any more particulars on his performance? Where was he playing, how'd he look, etc.?
I saw most of the game-he looked fine, fits in with the team. Bayern is a very technical, cultured team, so it REALLY suits Landon's style of play.
Yikes! So what would have happened if this had been an actual league game? Fulham postponed their last match because of a frozen pitch. What happens in the Bundesliga?
Yep, true for 2. Bundesliga clubs as well. Did cost my team a lot of money and consumes loads of energy as well.
At some point, Europe will have retractable roof stadiums - like a bunch of US football and baseball teams do - and play a full-year without a long winter break. But, total soccer revenues notwithstanding, there don't seem to be enough funds for that on the Euro wide scale.
Well since all Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga stadia already have undersoil heating the winter break is not really necessary anymore. The stadia can certainly deal with the temperatures and snow. It's not like the winter is extreme here. It's just tradition at this point. They'll probably shorten it quite a bit pretty soon.
