Everton return to face Sporting in the second leg of their Europa league crash, this time playing in the Estadio Jose Alvalade. Everton is up 2-1 on aggregate, and both Timmy and Landon are sure locks as starters. Jagielka is back after almost a year out with a knee injury, as both Distin and Heitinga are unavailable. Cahill and Fellaini are (obviously) still out as well.
Sounds like a job for Donovan. They will probably have to do a lot of defending but Sporting will push forward for a goal and LD may have opportunities on the counter.
What are the odds of Donovan playing in the hole like he did the last 20 minutes of the previous game? I thought he looked great there.
can't watch this match live, but I'm thinking about buying the uefa "replay" online (it's only $1.99!). Does anyone know how long it takes for the replay to be put up? Do they take a day or does it go up a few hours after the game?
Should be up within a few hours afterwards. Just to let everyone know: You can watch the game live on the UEFA site for $10. Not sure how the quality of it it, but it has to be better than any stream. I'm thinking about ordering, just for security and peace of mind that it won't crash midway through.
I bought the annual replay pass for $40. That comes with the live radio stream for CL and Europa. The radio stream has been good. Especially for those of us who can't really watch video at work.
I'd guess not, Beasley's not playing We are trying to surpass the Holden thread for quality posts right?
It looks like you can. The video window has an option to "show the score" so it evidently defaults to not showing it. However, you would still have to navigate the UEFA site. But, the video options are up top, so you wouldn't really have to worry about seeing stuff on other pages. I'd recommend signing up now rather than after though. Who knows what they'd post when you're signing up!
Does that mean I can start my Landon "Calrissian" Donovan jokes? "Why, you slimy, double-crossing, no-good swindler. You've got a lot of guts comin' here, after what you pulled." -- Landon to Ashley Cole.
for all the work-from-homies: Directv is showing all Europa League games for free. Everton game will be on channel 462 for me.
I've heard rumblings of Jagielka for England lately, considering Terry's miasma of problems off the pitch and generally slumping form on it, combined with Rio's physical ailments and general unsightliness*. "The one who made Lescott look worth the money." True? I can't say. But I just hope he's not being rushed back too early from injury. (*That may just be my opinion....)
Everton: Howard, Neville, Baines, Yobo, Senderos, Donovan, Bilyaletdinov, Arteta, Pienaar, Osman, Saha. Subs: Nash, Jagielka, Anichebe, Coleman, Rodwell, Gosling, Yakubu. http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/yobo-and-senderos-start-in-lisbon.html
Uefa.com shows Donovan starting with Saha up top, with Osman and Bilyaletdinov on the wings and Pienaar and Arteta in the middle. Doesn't seem right to me. http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/matches/season=2010/live/index.html?matchday=8&day=2 Here's hoping for a smooth landon for Donovan in Portugal.
