I may be totally wrong but I think I read somewhere that for players 21 and under that minimum is less. How much less? I have no idea. I just vaguely remember reading that.

It's 20 years or older where the bump in wages happens

Thanks! I wonder.... is that applicable if say you are a non EU player but you are transferring from another EU league (like Haji) or if it's a blanket minimum non EU salary regardless of where you are transferring from.

You can be "realistic" and comment on his career/situation without being a dick. There really isn't a justification for saying someone, "blows ass at his profession."

He was signed by one of the biggest clubs in the world and scored goals for Schalke youth teams and Schalke II. He even got a cup of coffee in the Bundesliga. Most players cannot make that jump. It's hard. Have some empathy.

He didn't just stumble into the VVV training grounds and they said, "lets give this guy a bunch of money."

my goodness, some of you are quite sensitive.....im happy for the kid, but no one on this board thought he was going to get an opportunity like this. Here, just for you ill say it so i dont hurt your feelings. He hasnt performed well in any situation while he has been in Europe and his career trajectory has been flat to down. He should be really happy he just made 400k.

    That better?

a website where we consistently criticize players and literally point out their flaws and btch about the MNT? Maybe we shouldnt talk about anyone ever, it might hurt someones feelings that doesnt even know them. Classy wouldnt be the first word to come to mind for a website like this. Its going to be ok buddy, have a good Friday!

All things considered, the best move we could have asked for. I expected him to slink to MLS, or end up in a Bundesliga III backwater.

  13. Ahem, if he hasnot got a EU passport, he's going into the 400k+ bracket.

  14. If 400k+ isnot going to make him realise he's got to deliver now, nothing will. So he's on a very luxurious one year leash. If that doesnot ring a bell, he's no pro metal.

Nope. The minimum jumps to the full 400k + the moment a non EU player has his 20st birthday.

Gelschenkirchen to Venlo is probably 35-40 miles apart. Who says he has to move to stinky Limbugh? :D

I said He blows, and so far he has at the professional level, also said I was happy he was getting that kind of money. Would LOVE to see him turn it around....what I said to begin was half sarcasm but of course people have to get offended. Wouldn’t be a soccer board without it

I mean in length. You give one year "with the possibility of a second year extension" to a player that you don't think it's worth the risk of a longer contract.
