Of course he's doing well in practice, he would have been let go he would have been completely shut out from the first team if he wasn't.
Yeah, at this point, it'd do Wright a world of good just to get USL/MLS minutes. Different environment, fresh start, playing first-team soccer against adults in a professional environment. That's all he needs.

maybe earlier, German reports say that Schalke sporting director Heidel might resign today (even before the Mainz game, where they are losing 3-0). Schalke has been mismanaged for years now.
they are stupid, it's not just Goretzka there is a long list of players who they let go on free. They know the players weren't going to extend but they still insisted on keeping them to the last possible second. Tedesco has stated this season, their inability to replace Goretzka is one of the reasons for their struggles.

Touched the ball a dozen times, won half of his duels, made two good passes (both back) and two bad ones, overall I'd say he made me appreciate Bobby Wood.
I was actually at the game yesterday. Came to see McKennie so I was pretty bummed that he was out injured, luckily it doesn't appear to be serious. So I was excited when Haji came on as he is the first American I've seen play abroad, but he did not do much. His best play was when he cut into the box and was brought down towards the end line, but the referee did not award a penalty (obviously deemed him to have gone down too easily). As the match wore on Haji was getting caught hiding behind players, didn't show for the ball, and overall was having a hard time getting involved in the play. That being said Schalke wasn't playing all that great. It's only the 6th? match he's played for them so hopefully he continues to grow with experience, but yes he might need to find a place where he can get some more minutes whether that's MLS or maybe a loan to 2. Bundesliga.
NYCFC needs a striker bad and Wright might be a pretty good fit. He's already played in NYC and definitely brings some physical advantages to the smurf collection that is NYCFC's current roster. Wouldn't be a bad loan or even final destination.
#LFC have received an approach from Schalke to sign Taiwo Awoniyi.Nigerian striker has scored six goals in seven games on loan for @ExcelMouscron in Belgium. #LFC believe they can get £10m-plus for him, but have loan interest from across Europe.https://t.co/ii6FWI96zq— Neil Jones (@neiljonesgoal) March 5, 2019 In Schalke news that may have and effect on Haji
