Olympiacos' paycheques cash just fine - they have CL money - and the fringes are fantastic. That's no reason to worry about moving. Other Greek clubs, certainly, but not Olympiacos. Plus, he'll be in the CL. A good showing and who knows what can happen? So the baby will be born early November when the women's league is in off-season. Dom goes to Athens, sees how he fits in and wifey moves over around XMas and takes her maternity leave/gets physically fit until late Spring, by which time Dom will know whether Europe is a runner this time round. If it's not, Sydney goes back to Kansas and joins her team a little late and Dom comes back in the summer. Doesn't sound like much of an obstacle to me.
i wonder if a loan is a viable option. I'm sure Dwyer would love the possibility of playing in the CL.
Probably not. Kansas wouldn't benefit much from a loan if it doesn't work out - injuries, strains, mental as well as physical tiredness, loss of confidence, etc - meaning that Dom comes back to Kansas off-form. On top of that, per mlssoccer.com, the baby is due in September which brings way too much uncertainty for him & the missus, not to mention choosing between missing the birth or taking two weeks off 6 weeks into the Greek season. In his shoes, or the club's, it's "a season-long loan - minimum - or call us in January." If he's a top MLS striker (I don't get to see much MLS this year thanks to Eurosport and time zone differences, so I don't know) with a background in a quality English youth system he's surely good enough for Greek D1. The only question is if he can be good enough for Olymp's CL games, but with his family situation it's hard to see this deal happening now, which means that it's never happening - very hard to imagine Olymp holding a squad position open until January.
That awkward moment when Olympiacos gets knocked out of the 3rd round of CL qualifying by Hapoel Be'er Sheva.
Dwyer tweeted out this today (transfer deadline day in England): ✌🏽️✈️❤️ https://t.co/yAdwRqfPUZ— Dom Dwyer (@Ddwyer14) August 31, 2016 Which led to this: 771030799416164352 is not a valid tweet id And necessitated this: Just got off the phone with a Sporting KC spokesperson. No truth to the reports linking Dom Dwyer to Wolves. He was at SKC training this AM.— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) August 31, 2016
Let's start a rumor about him going to Valarenga, and see if it gets traction. You could say anything on a day like this and someone will republish it, calling you "sources."
That's a good start. Now, tweet that out and leave a few dots at the end of it with some odd looking emoji.
A few minutes before that tweet he tweeted how he was training in the rain. I don't know how people fell for that lol.
Time to revive this thread. He's a full-fledged US citizen now & member of the USMNT and he's in contract negotiations with SKC. Some background on why the move to Greece didn't work last year: Dwyer has the added bargaining position of being an England native, which gives him significantly more options as a free agent. The 26-year-old has already been the subject of transfer interest in the past, with Greek side Olympiakos making a $3 million bid for him a year ago. Sporting KC and Olympiakos agreed on the $3 million fee, but sources tell Goal the transfer fell through when Dwyer failed to reach an agreement on a contract with Olympiakos. http://beta.goal.com/en-us/news/dom...to-big-payday-with/160p7lxxudzim1err941i5b6ah
Now I do wonder from the article mentions, could he actually be making a move back to England within a year or so? Lots of clubs that LeRoux could even play for. But a big salary cut I'm sure for her.
As long as she stays in the WNT set-up, it shouldn't be. She'd forgo the NWSL piece of her package, but should be okay as long as she gets NT call-ups.
