Don't get me wrong it would be nice a Chicago vs Milwaukee team, but MLS team really?

Milwaukee used to have second division teams -- the Rampage played from 1994-2002 and won the A-League title in 1997 and 2002 (Brian McBride and Tony Sanneh played for them), and Wave United played in 2003 and '04.

This forum pretty much exists because Peter Wilt put together a group that tried to get a stadium deal and an MLS team in Milwaukee a few years ago. They had a great setup for season tickets with the state youth association, but couldn't get a stadium and the project fell apart.

While many of us in Wisconsin dream of an MLS team, I think most of us are realistically resigned to the fact that it's just not going to happen -- or at least not for a very, very long time.

Hopefully Milwaukee can find a place in the NASL [a good rival with Minnesota/St. Louis/ Fire(USOC)]. With a steady increase of popularity, it could possibly make the leap into MLS. Perhaps use Marquette's new field. With a reasonable chance of reconfiguring the Milwaukee Mile. Not a bad pipe dream for a Wednesday afternoon.
