This, kinda.. I had an argument with a dude at the Washington post about this.. bro doesn't even speak Spanish, nor has he lived in Mexico. It could definitely be seen as homophobic, I just think the press ran with it. It's base and stupid. Sent from my VS870 4G using Tapatalk
Siento que muchos aficionados lo hacen por joder. Lo mas que se les rogue, lo mas que lo van a hacer.
Also, the US can stop talking out both sides of their mouths on this. They host most of our matches. If they were super butt-hurt, they'd cut that off.. but we actually fund their federation. Sent from my VS870 4G using Tapatalk
This.. we call dudes "bitch" all the time, in jest. It's not a clever chant, and should go... but it's not what they purport it to be. We're better than that chant... Sent from my VS870 4G using Tapatalk
We are one of the least clever fanbases if we're gonna be honest. You'd think we'd learn to chant something other than 2 lines of the cielito lindo (at least the US based fans). Shit at least learn the whole song. There are a bunch of Mexican songs that would sound great being chanted in the stadiums.
Nae, you're right. We have a strong fanbase, but not always the most sophisticated blokes.. the chant should go.. don't really know how to make it stop, though. Sent from my VS870 4G using Tapatalk
So most agree it should go because its stupid not because its homophobic. Convince FIFA, the media, and stupid NAD fans of that and I'll support stopping. But I'm not gonna be acused of being something I'm not, fack them. Acknowledge the real meaning and then we can work together to change it.
I dont support it but Im not against it. Whats next? Stop chants against opposing teams in league games too?
BTW segun no hubo grito en el partido Pachuca-León. Not sure if accurate, I don't really pay attention anymore.
I do somewhat think it has ran its course, but you know how many of our fellow Mex people are. They will continue to be amused by the same thing forever, so I don't think it is going away. And as it was already mentioned, the more opposition there is to it, the more pervasive its usage will be.
Just saw an article online that states the FEMEXFUT received two more fines because of the chants that occurred in the Gold Cup. I herd PUT0 at least 10 separate times in the US vs Jamaica game but I'm assuming it was those Mexico fans that thought Mexico would reach the final that were saying it.
I was about to make a new thread but I thought it be most appropriate to keep this thread going since it covers the same topic.
I don't think it will go away anytime soon unless FIFA threatens to disqualify Mexico from the World Cup or takes points away. Which up to this point they have not done, all they like to do is take away from that pot of gold that Mexico has.
It needs to stop for the simple reason this is gonna bite the team in the ass. This stopped bein about the morality of the chant and more about the survival of the team. If you don't do it now we are gonna end up paying in WCQ points eventually.
The chant probably would have died down on its own as most trends do. Unbelievably (not really) FIFA decides to punish national football organizations for this chant it deems "homophobic" yet has no shame in keeping world cups in Russia and Qatar which have homophobic policies in place.
Good luck to all the sissies who voted for the grito to stop The FMF or Mexican national team should win silverware like El Mundial de Clubes, World Cup, Copa America before telling us to do shit
Haven't been able to watch any Liga MX games for the past two weekends but I'm guessing the chant is still an issue Just find it funny that even the FMF implemented rules in place before the start of the season granting permission to refs to stop games if it becomes a burden Highly doubt anything will be done
