Do you feel we are seeing an accurate depiction of PoC today? Better opportunities in front of camera? what about roles for women? Are we drastically different than say tv series of the 90's? how about LGBT representation?
It depends. I think you probably see more PoC on TV and in movies today than twenty and even ten years ago. But a lot of those roles are supporting roles and many times, it's more tokenism than a real effort to diversify.
you think so? I feel that there are more substantial roles. the 90's had loads of Black sitcoms and comedies. But how many reflected more than 1 side of the Black experience? Feels like today, the shows are either diving deeper to portray it or simply Black actors/actresses are getting roles typically given to whites.
