Baseball does not have revenue sharing in the same way that basketball and football do. Football and basketball have stronger controls on salary than baseball also. Yankees make the most money of all the clubs.
I think the only thing the Eredivisie can do is keep control of the Dutch market by offering entertaining football, a local community feel and a great match going experience. And then hope for better times to make steps in to Europe again. What should be prevented is the EPL, La Liga and Bundesliga from gaining more ground with young fans. I see way to many Barca, Madrid, EPL and Bayern shirts with the young people.
Looks like things are getting finalized: Keizer to be first team coach; Heitinga moving in to train the U-19s and Reisinger to come back to Ajax to train Jong Ajax.
Aron Winter will be his assistant ... I have the feeling that all this is a lot of inter-self and cronyism. Marcel Keizer is the son of Piet. He is also a childhood friend of Dennis Bergkamp ... This is the summary of Dutch football, which is very consanguineous. Holland must hold the record of the sons of former footballers who have become professional players. I hope Keizer will make me lie. I hope he will have the balls to make courageous decisions like Bosz with Bazoer and Gudelj. For now, I'm skeptical.
Just read that Wesley Sneijder is surplus at Galatasaray, if true I would love to see a return to Ajax.
Maybe not a bad option. Sneijder is in between now, he's no longer good enough for the big 4 Euro leagues, and he's still too good for Dutch L.
Yes I remember Bijleveld good player but a little small. What's happening in the Netherlands they are not eating or what
Klassen's transfer to Everton be finalized in next few days for about 26m pounds. compared that to Eriksen sold for 11m pounds in 2013...Suarez for 23m in 2011... crazy mkt
Great move overall for Klaassen. He's "outgrown" Eredivisie, and I feel he's ready for a new challenge in a more demanding league. Everton is a safe bet.. steady club that constantly finishes in top 10, solid fan base and Dutch coach. I think the pace of English league will overwhelm him at first, but I am excited to see what he's got in longer term. Hope he make the step change.. contribution in Wijnaldum fashion would be awesome. Come in, play hard, score big goals when needed. Cheers for Klaassen!
We'll see. He was on loan to Porto last season but only for their 'B' side. I think he's a decent prospect but he is definitely not nearly the player that de Ligt is.
He's a lot like Wijnaldum in playing style. And he's got intelligence and a hard working mentality. I think he has good odds to become successful at Everton.
I called this back in April btw: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/peter-bosz-and-the-new-ajax.2033371/page-58#post-35381740 What do I win??
