Or Throttur, if you are too lazy to spell it out (for shame!). It's a Icelandic club based in Reykjavik that plays in the second tier. Acoff played three years at Creighton and one at UCSB. He was involved with the U18 national team at one point and was a reasonably prominent college player in his day. He scored a goal in Throttur's first match.
Gregg Ryder, the coach there (and somehow affiliated with Newcastle's Youth System, though it was never clearly explained to me how), took a ton of Americans on trial there over this off-season and last. Usually sends them packing though, until this one. He's all about trying to tap into the American market; works a lot with Alex DeJohn's agent, who also has Dion, Chris Tsonis, and Jordan Tyler, who signed with KF in the second division this season. Can't remember the guy's name though off the top of my head.
We head to the Icelandic 1. Deild for this goal. Dion Acoff scored his fifth goal of the season over the weekend -> http://t.co/aQSfK9OR0D— Over There (@socceroverthere) July 28, 2015

I don't know if Acoff plans to stick around for next season, but Thróttur finished second in the 1.deild league and earned promotion to the top flight. Acoff finished with 7 goals in 20 appearances over a 22-game season.
Winger Dion Acoff is leaving Throttur, who were relegated, in Iceland, for Valur in Iceland's Pepsideild (top tier) http://ussocceracrossthepond.blogsp...wrap-friday-saturday-and-sunday.html?spref=tw
Valur are in the 1st Qualifying Round of the Europa League. Acoff went 90 minutes in a 0-0 away draw at Ventspils. http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleagu...ound=2000886/match=2021742/lineups/index.html

Acoff finished the season with 14 starts, six sub appearances, and two DNPs. He scored two goals as his club cruised to the Icelandic title - Valur won by 12 points, which is a lot in a 22 game season.

Wow! Valur nearly blow this one, giving up a 90+3' goal to Keflavik, but wait they come straight back and score (at 90+4') to retake the lead 2 - 1 where the match ended!
Starts today as Valur as they host Fylkir in an Iceland Pepsidelid match A win by either team will move them into 2nd place.... <Currently 0 - 0 after 14 minutes>
Acoff started both legs of Valur's UEFA Europa League second qualifying round tie with FC Santa Coloma of Andorra. Valur lost the road leg 1-0, but then won the home leg 3-0 to advance 3-1 on aggregate. They face Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova in the third qualifying round. He did appear in either leg as Valur fell 3-2 on aggregate to Rosenborg in the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round. In the league, he has a goal in 5 starts as Valur currently top the table through 14 games. He also scored a goal in 6 starts as Valur won the League Cup earlier in the year and played the first half in Valur's Super Cup win. In addition, he scored a goal in his only start in the Icelandic Cup from which Valur were subsequently eliminated in at the quarterfinal stage.
Acoff was subbed out in second half stoppage time as Valur dropped today's road leg to Sheriff Tiraspol 1-0.
