Leverkusen seem to have had a very good preseason. The team are playing with good fluidity and confidence, and I'm interested to see how they maintain this good early form.
Youtube compilations can make any player look amazing, but Brandt's compilations show touches, movement, and intent that I rarely see in other players, especially at this young age.
I agree. Looking forward to seeing what we can do this year. Finishing second and getting out the group in the CL is very realistic in my opinion.
Could have been a lot worse. Benfica away and Zenit away will be tricky but I'm confident of beating both at home.
Think you the only German team we have beaten over two legs. We have a horrible history with German sides. Should go to the wire, last game away to us.
Not at all a bad draw for Leverkusen. Looking forward to seeing the club's performances in the group.
Only managed to catch the second half of the game, but that was another strong final 30minutes from die Werkself. Brandt impressing again, and most importantly - the attacking midfield link up so well together, with fluidity and chemistry. Bayer's 3rd goal certainly wasn't their first obvious chance to take the lead. The 4th from Bellarabi really was a special one. From the pass into space on the wing, to the cross, to the technical finish.
This is horrid news. Brandt injured with torn angle ligaments: http://uk.reuters.com/article/2014/09/09/uk-soccer-germany-leverkusen-brandt-idUKKBN0H419920140909
What a superb game to watch for the neutral, but disappointing for Leverkusen to pick up only one point after going ahead. Firstly, the opening goal by Jedvaj was a corker, but the interplay leading up to the finish shouldn't go unnoticed. Such speed and passing between the attacking players was great. Calhanoglu's FK was a beauty, and not a surprise, but it's even better that his overall play is quality. Secondly, Bremen's goals were very good finishes, BUT the defending by Leverkusen was just plain poor, especially on the 3rd goal. From Di Santo dribbling his way out from the corner, to the shocking marking in the box that led to the finish... That said, Leverkusen's coaches won't have much trouble sorting out what went wrong - the discipline of the players in their own half needs to be taken up a few notches.

Impressed with the physical and high tempo game 04 is showing tonight...the question is if they can run on all cylinders till the 90 min and press...Madrid already has used 2 sub's which is another plus...if they dont run out of steam they can beat the AM tonight...assistant coach of AM is an authentic typical Spanish Douchebag...all that extra weight he is carrying around has gone to his head
