It is pretty much what I have in mind although there are a few players who I wouldn't count on being in the squad just yet...Hildebrand for one...Enke and Weidenfeller have both been having better seasons than him. Asamoah is quite inconsistent and is injured, isn't he? Fathi is still not a sure bet, same with Sienkewicz as well as Kiessling...they've been playing well for their respective clubs but are very inexperienced, this compared to an already inexperienced squad. And I seriously hope doesn't make the team, simply because he isn't playing at all for Chelsea...Mourinho gives him pity minutes ever 15 matches...that is ridiculous and a slap in the face to the national team. At this point, I'd take the aging Woerms instead of Huth...nothing against Robert, I like him as a player but its the damn principle!!!!!!! Also, Lehman is having a terrific season for Arsenal but who knows how he might act up again with his childish demands to be the first keeper.

    My 23 man roster:

    GK:
    Kahn
    Lehmann
    Weidenfeller

    Defense:

    Friedrich
    Volz
    Mertesacker
    Metzelder
    Sinkiewicz
    Wörns
    Lahm
    Fathi

    Midfield:

    Ballack
    Schweinsteiger
    Deisler
    Frings
    Kehl
    Borowski
    Schneider
Jansen (Like BMG did, I would move him to a more attacking role on the left, it suits him better)

    Forwards:
    Klose
    Podolski
    Kuranyi
    Kiessling

    Friedrich
    Owomoyela (ok, i am biased)
    Mertesacker
    Metzelder
    Sinkiewicz
    Huth
    Lahm
    Jansen

    Midfield:

    Ballack
    Schweinsteiger
    Deisler
    Frings
    Kehl
    Borowski
    Schneider
    Meier

    Forwards:
    Klose
    Podolski
    Kuranyi
Kiessling (plays good currently, but has to prove it in NT, Klinsi should give him a chance)

What Happens if Germany Doesn't Get in to Final 16 in WC?

What will happen in Germany if they don't qualify for the final 16 or even make it to the final 8?

I love Klinsmann, but this German team clearly isn't a top 4 team in the world and will have a difficult time, even if playing at home. Will Germans go crazy and burn a city down? Will lots of them jump in the Rhine or Donau and let themselves float away? Will they attack Poland?

I will suck for sure and lots of children will cry, but how will it make you feel and what will you do about it?

    ... cause it could happen.

If we tank in the World Cup, I expect the DFB to be put Klinsmann in the next plane to California for good and sign a decent coach like Hitzfeld or Rehhagel, maybe even Daum.

    Mike Hanke

I hear really good things about this young German striker. Got a red card in Germany's last International game...& now, may be out of 1st or 1st & 2nd game of World Cup.

Now, I read that coach Klinnsman is appealing this suspension. Looks like Klinnsman really wants him on NT.

My question to those more informed than I on Int' soccer & the German sports news. Does Klinnsman have a chance to be successful in this effort??? Please, any Germany fans (Or Wolfsburg.....or soccer fans "in the know")---Thanks---Wotan

Mike Hanke want to much in a short time.

He`s a very good talent, but he`s not patient to get a superstar.

Hey, it just is like that. If you don't already have a superstar, you won't get one either. Those pumps and pills just don't work...

a couple of names not really mentioned yet (well, hanke was), but in addition to him, what about lauth and florian kringe? he could play on the left or in central midfield and is a solid performer... although i would take kehl over him for sure and given the midfield surplus, there might not be enough place for him...
he had a very good last season, but not sure how hes been doing this year?

i really would like to see kehl, kringe, hanke and lauth make the squad... they will be hungry to prove themselves at the top level...

Lauth has been very, very poor this season, and he would be a long shot to make the squad IMHO. He's a very talented player, but he has performed below his potential. Hanke's also struggled this year, and the fact that he will miss the first 2 games through suspension might make it tougher for him to make the squad. Klose, Podolski and Kuranyi should be locks for 3 of the 4 forward positions (assuming Klinsi takes 4). With the current lack of decent options after those 3, there is a good chance one of these 2 (or perhaps Kiessling) will make the sqaud.

Kehl should absolutely make the squad, and start as DM IMO.

Kringe would be a long shot as well. He's a good player, but the options in central and left mid (Ballack, Borowski, Schweinsteiger, Frings (in the middle) and perhaps Jansen (if he's moved to a more attacking role ala Gladbach)) are better candidates ATM.

  24. Lack of decent options? Brdaric has 8 goals so far, Neuville 7. Both have been way better than Lauth and Hanke, who just sucked. Plus they have the experience. You can't go with only young players, you need some vets on the sqad too. I personally would go with Neuville for the fourth forward position.

Yeah, thats true. I had completely forgotten about Neuville as an option. I think he'd be a good player to have on the squad again.

    My bad..
