Me too. And contrary to you lot Im not used to it. Feels like a constant inner Reichsparteitag. Is that normal?
I'm not use to it either. Last years Champions League title was beautiful, but it was 1 year of sadness and wait, this right here was 12 years of sadness. The best part is we are champions for a minimum of 4 more years.
just finished watching the entire final again. Watched the 7-1 a few days ago but the German commentary on it sucked. On Müller 1st goal the announcer was claiming there was no goal and it was whistled dead for the longest time before randomly screaming it counts.
The Final was a quality match, even excluding the fact Germany won. A tight, tense game with chances on both sides and a sort of "unstoppable force meets immovable object" feel.
Meister, Pokal? almost nonchalant couldnt care less mode. ARDs radio reportage quite decent though(as usual).
Ha never cared much for Meisterschaft or Pokal since they happen pretty often, CL is always the important one for me. Also might be because I have a lot of friends that cheer for a bunch of different teams all over Europe rather than in Germany, so CL holds the bragging rights over them rather than BL.
Just realized in the celebrations, Boatengs daughters are always with Götze's girlfriend. Did they fly alone or something?
No, Boateng's fiancé was there as well but I guess she was just happy not looking after them for once! Reception for Khedira in Oeffingen:
Awesome...I'm originally from there, in fact Sami grew up just a couple of blocks away from where I lived. I've read that Oeffingen will name their football field after him now. His mom actually still works at the local stationary shop, they're just very down to earth people...though they did build a nice mansion now, but who can blame them
Cool! I already mentioned it in the France thread but estimatedly 10 years ago a friend of mine sat next to Mats in school and that's why I met him several times when we played soccer in Neubiberg(the suburb where they lived). Im sure I didnt know he played in Bayerns youth back then but I still know when my friend told me years later: "Do you remember Mats? He signed his first contract for Bayern II!" Didnt surprise me cause he was the best player around but if youd ask all the 10 years back versions of us no one would have believed we play soccer with an future Weltmeister. Unfortunately, I then stopped playing on club level cause -since we're the same age group- I probably would have met him playing in one of those Bayern youth teams from U11-U16. The same with the Bender twins for 1860.
I like it. It's good to be reminded of how shitty you were at one point in order to fully appreciate what you have now.
"Kicker" has issued its "Rangliste" for summer 2014. 7 German players were rated as "World Class": Neuer (GK) Hummels (CD) T.Müller (offensive lateral) Reus (offensive lateral) Lahm (DM) Schweinsteiger (DM) Kroos (OM) For comparison, after the previous three World Cup triumphs "Kicker" rated the following players as "World Class": 1954 - 5 players Herkenrath, Liebrich, Posipal, Eckel, F.Walter 1974 - 6 players Maier, Breitner, Vogts, Beckenbauer, G.Müller, U.Hoeness 1990 - 5 players Kohler, Buchwald, Brehme, Matthäus, Völler While 2014 has the record amount of "world class" players in a World Cup winning season, the highest-ever number of players rated as "world class" by "Kicker" was after the 1966 World Cup - 9 (Tilkowski, Höttges, Schulz, Weber, Schnellinger, Haller, Beckenbauer, Overath, Seeler)
I always admired the Japanese approach to the game. Especially since the days when they invented our recent home kit:
She is a character from Evangelion three-quarters German and a quarter Japanese, and the eye patch is from being injured.
