Only France squad are equal with German power

Btw I hope we will play against Belgium in one of two friendlies that will play in November

Also , Sweden or Croatia ,as a good test

well Germany will play both Spain and Brazil in back to back Friendlies in March 2018. So we'll get an idea about how we fare against them. Sure friendly aren't competitive but they are still good practice.

Without Hector, I suspect Loew might consider Toljan as a replacement

    Just my two cents

Loew will only bring in 3 fullbacks in his 23-men roster. Consider Rudy or Rudiger can play some RB if needed

So the 3rd fullback... ideally will have to play both right back or left back. Or a natural left back like Plattenhardt, Halstenberg or Gerhardt. I don't think Henrichs will be considered now

Toljan has CL expereince, is now playing in Dortmund, and played well in both Olympic n U21 Euro

    Germany team:

    GK) Neuer, ter Stegen, Leno

    RB) Kimmich

    CB) Hummels, Boateng, Sule, Rudiger

    LB) Hector, Toljan/Plattenhardt

CM) Kroos, Rudy, Emre Can, Khedira, Gundogan

    RW) Mueller, Brandt

    AM) Oezil, Goretzka

    LW) Draxler, Sane

    CF) Timo Werner, Mario Gomez

Toljan can actually play both RB and LB and even some CB. Pretty versatile. He played a great RB in the U21, while playing LB for club. No need to play Rudiger or Rudy there. I don't think Halstenberg is that great tho.

No Reus? I would take Reus over Draxler.

Reus .. I don't know much about him. Of coz he is better when he is in form

But he is never in form lol

We still need Brandt there because we don't have any play who can play well at the right wing

    Toljan n Plattenhardt I m both fine. I m not a fan of Gerhardt

Eh? Reus is always in Form if he is not injured. There are few players who always come back as strong as they never were injured. Reus is one of them.

I hope Reus can put himself together n stay away from injuries. HE is always always injrued in the last few years. Can he make it to the WC in time?

of coz i still want him in our NT, Draxler, Sane, Gnabry, Younes n Brandt arent playing amazingly well either. Draxler n Sane are even benchwarmers in their clubs

but they are at least healthy, n that makes a difference.

I m very very concerned about the RW position. other than Muller, there isnt a good backup at RW. Brandt? Bellarabi? or Sane on the right?

left n right wing is so unbalance at the moment. Maybe i'll bring in Brandt as a backup RW thats all

A healthy Reus greatly improves our chances of winning the WC.

A Mueller/Werner/Reus front line has a tremendous goal threat that no other NT can match.

sometimes I feel like too many German players are made of glass. With how easily they get injured.

Sad to say it, but Gundo is done in terms of being with the NT. I wouldn't consider him being a feasible option anymore moving forward.

It's really unfortunate. He's such a stud when fit. Would've added new dimensions to the NT.

In terms of skill set and game dimensions, I think Dahoud is probably the up and comer who is the most similar to Gundogan.

I agree. But he's not quite there yet developmentally. Gundogan if he were healthy consistently would be able to start and bring us that in the World Cup.

Yea, not quite right now. Although to be fair, Dahoud is still 21. I think at this stage of his earlier career, Gündogan was still in his final year with Nürnberg. 2018 WC would be too early for Dahoud, but he should be getting into stronger contention for 2020 and onwards.

A healthy Gündogan would have definitely been an impact player. But in my mind considering how he's fallen off the NT scene for several years now due to injuries, it's a tough theoretical scenario to ponder. I've kind of grown to accept that him and Reus most likely won't have the fortune to be big tournament players.

make sense Gomez is out for now, so why not give Uth a call up.

    He deserves a chance.

But i think Loew still rate Stindl n Sandro Wagner (yes) higher than him

I think Loew needs to try Mark Uth and a new fullback.

Not sure what the backup plan is. But he hasnt consistently try a backup LB or RB since Euro 2016.

Hector is now injured for a couple of months so we will need to see what his backup plan is; What if Kimmich is injured?

Nah wont be Henrichs since he can barely make the bench for Leverkusen nowadays.........who will that be? Toljan, Weiser, Klostermann?

I mean finding a backup for Hector doesnt mean playing Howedes, Kimmich or Rudiger at LB, i mean a real lefty with similar function. Who can penetrate n play comfortably on the left flank, and doesnt have to force himself to cross with the right foot

Far too early to say that

It will take him a long time to come back of course - he's only just made it back to actual games and had a small setback.

but he is only 26, and other players have come back from this injury.

Robben was called the glassman too before he's joined Bayern. It's true, he's still injury prone but is able to play most of the season on a high level. It's too early to say for Gündogan.

Neuer is another case to worry. When he hopefully returns in 2018, he hasn't played a single NT match since september 2016. 3 fractures of the same bone of the foot is not unproblematic because the foot is such a complex and for a footballer important part of the body. Especially for Neuer, who loves to play the sweeperkeeper, a longtime injury like that, I fear, can cost him a lot of class/speed/power.
