The next game is away to Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland need to win that one and the last game and hope Germany lose against them and later at home to Azerbaijan to directly qualify.

Germany, for the record, has *NEVER* lost an away world cup qualifier.

Serious question, why do you want Germany to lose those matches?

Great game in Stuttgart! Helped by an opponent thoroughly out of his depth, but still. Great and positive support by the fans today too!

Almost the same but I prefer Emre Can to Goretzka. Emre Can brings some balance : toughness n more defensive

I like Goretzka as a backup to Oezil at AM

If Sane picks up his form, he will be my first choice winger too

Just came back from the game and wanted to say hi.
Given that the last game I went to was the 2004 group stage game against Latvia, the team had a lot to make up to me. And luckily they did.

Müller had an overall positive showing today and demonstrated good chemistry with Werner. It's a partnership that can be built upon moving forward. He's also among the more experienced players on the big stage, and has a strong track record for scoring in WC tournaments. Who or what line up selection would you like to see?

Reus is a match winner...if he is fit he will play in place of Draxler

I finished today's match and yes, Mueller had a great match compared to Friday's.

I've given up on the idea of Reus/Gun-dawg ever being fit for germany

    Love watching Kimmich

Ever since he stepped in at CB for Bayern you could tell this was a special guy.

To be fair the entire team looked like shit on Friday.

Müller plays well for the NT and I don't see anyone on the right that can bring his goals/assists and defensive work.

I'd love to see Reus start on the left, but I fear his NT will end up even worse than Scholl's.

Looks like this will be the national pool:

GK) Neuer, ter Stegen, Leno, Horn, Trapp

    RB) Kimmich, Henrichs, Toljan, Klostermann

CB) Boateng, Howedes, Hummels, Rudiger, Sule, Ginter, Mustafi, Tah

LB) Hector, Gerhardt, Plattenhardt, Robin Gosens(?)

CM/DM) Kroos, Gundogan, Weigl, Khedira, Emre Can, Dahoud, Rudy

    RW) Mueller, Brandt, Schuerrle, Bellarabi

    AM) Oezil, Goetze, Goretzka

LW) Draxler, Reus, Younes, Gnabry, Sane

CF) Mario Gomez, Timo Werner, Sandro Wagner, Stindl, Mark Uth

Yeah - tough away game, dumb formation, lack of match fitness

It helps to have Kimmich wide right so Mueller can play narrower

He still looks nothing like his old self though
