    For now I would pick:

    Neuer, ter Stegen, Trapp

    Kimmich
    Rudiger, Sule, Hummels, Boateng
    Hector, Halstenberg

    Rudy, Kroos, Goretzka, Khedira, Gundogan
    Mueller, Sane
    Oezil, Stindl
    Reus, Draxler

    Mario Gomez, Timo Werner

    Backup:

    Fahrmann

    Klostermann
    Howedes, Ginter, Mustafi, Orban
    Plattenhardt, Philipp Max

    Emre Can, Weigl, Max Meyer
    Brandt, Schuerrle
    Goetze, Demirbay
    Younes, Philipp

    Sandro Wagner, Uth

I would say the most positive thing about this game, is that with this lineup, twice were down and twice we came back.

from one site. Complete agree with them.

    Emre Can

He did a good job of marking the French attackers but he seemed to make a few errors. He was unable to stop Martial and Lacazette from scoring the opener though (33’) and appeared to not really do anything to try. In fact, he happened to position himself just right so as to keep Lacazette just onside. Eek. Some of his touches were a bit off too. Certainly not his best performance. Emre Can’t.

Currently I find Mustafi, Wagner, Can, and Draxler are the underachievers to horrible in the pool of players.

Gundogan is improving. I don’t have any doubt about his ability, intelligence and technique. When he is fully fit, he will again become one of the best midfielders in the world along with Modric/Thiago/Kroos/De Bryune just like he did in 2012/13. But what the hack is Can doing? This guy should not be even included in the squad. He is not as good as Rudy/Khedira as a defensive midfielder nor is he as good as Kimmich as a right-back.

Other than that, what is the rationale of not including Mario Gomez in the national team? Despite scoring a goal today, Werner wasted so many chances. I really missed Gomez’s physical presence in the box and ability to hold-up play up front.

Gomez is probably the closest thing we have to Lewandowski.

He's 21 years old and way ahead of Klose at this point in his career.

not a really fair comparison as Klose's career was a weird case. Better to compare Werner's path to Gomez and the other strikers that came after Klose.

with the year over. I would say the best players of this year for us have been Kimmich, Goretzka, Stindl and Werner.

and props to Gundo, played very well against England and France. All he needs is more game time and get 100% fit and he'll be a powerful asset.

but Germany was exposed yesterday which is great, probably gonna do something for the next games to avoid it again (or ar least not so many times)

Rüdiger had a solid game yesterday apart from the case leading to the 2nd French goal

Clearly See that Loew is planning with Draxler and Oezil....Always playing Draxler(well maybe as he is not getting much play time at his club) .... Seems Low wants to take CAN with so as there is no spot for him in Midfield he will give up a defender,

Thought Plattenhart had some good actions, also some mistakes but some nice crosses into the box.

Allot will depend now on Hector, Reus getting fit

I would definitely like to see Gomez included in the squad, he offers something that Werner and Stindl don't, a physical presence with strong aerial ability. Having a versatile set of strikers is important, He is better then Wagner imo. I would nominate Werner, Stindl and Gomez.

Plan A might not always work, so having a traditional target man is still a valid, and potentially key alternative tactic against teams who defend very deep.

Hopefully after the WC Selke will be ready to take over from Gomez in that role.

I also agree with the both of you about Gomez. He's needed for the WC, even just as an option. He has tons of experience and he provides something different. All he needs is to do better than Wagner and is chances increase even more. But seriously, both games this week, Wagner came off the bench and was not impressive at all. Was completely useless, slow and ineffective vs England and against France did nothing but get booked while Stindl provided more.

also hoping for the same that post WC, it goes between Werner, Selke, Uth, Stindl.........and then maybe Wagner.

Pretty poor marking at France’s first goal yesterday though, no one marked number 10

Gomez is 100% going to the WC if he isn't injured.

If you guys have been watching the NT along with Loew since 2006, you will probably notice a trend. In friendlies and qualifiers the team is less compact and organized, defense is a little weak etc. After the pre-tournament training camp, those issues are gone. I am not worried at all.

    EC2008: 7 GA
    WC2010: 3 GA
    EC2012: 6 GA
    WC2014: 4 GA
    EC2016: 3 GA

EC2012 and EC 2008 were our worst tournaments defensively, but in the 2 World Cups that Loew has coached we have played 13 matches (not counting 3rd place match in 2010) and conceded 7 goals.

In the future I'd love to see a midfield of Weigl, Kroos, and Gundogan.

I m very sure Loew will bring a backup fullback. Either Plattenhardt or Halstenberg. It's very risky to bring just two natural fullbacks

I think both played well against England or France.

And Halstenberg I think may have the upper hand because he is better defensively N has CL experience

Loew actually brings in 3 fullbacks (Lahm, Durm, Grosskreutz) in WC 2014 too

I don't think both Goetze n Stindl will be called up. Maybe either one...

N Mario Gomez will be there to provide a plan B

but if Low takes 5 CB, who's your 5th choice?

I would go with Howedes, if he's playing and fit.
