Well, since bending the free kick is David Beckham's forte, I'll raise your Roberto Carlos with some David Beckham MLS goals. I'm not too keen on Mr. Golden Balls (I think he's a metrosexual posuer) and I loathe the Galaxy, but I have to admit that he has scored some very nice goals during his time in the MLS. Also check out the goals he scored at the RES. Brings back such warm memories of astroturf.
Honestly, I always liked Beckham as a player. He did get whiny when he came to the MLS, but he was always classy guy. It was the little things like making sure LA came back out after we won the cup that people won't always remember. Wasn't really the best overall player, but his service during the run of play and on free kicks was some of the best out there.
I think we all saw that goal. I wonder why they keep saying 16 seconds when it's clearly 15. It's nice to be watching this on loop though.
I know that, but did you see that goal 57 times? No? Well now you can. And you should. Everyone should.
I'm fairly certain I watched it at least that many times. Nothing like watching that thing loop over and over.
I actually walked into the front door of my apartment and turned on the game 45 seconds in, so no, I didn't see that goal.
Please spare a thought for a pre-YouTube era website called Foot of God that compiled highlights of great goals from classic games throughout soccer history. FIFA got mad and forced it to shut down eventually but man, was it really something while it lasted. EDIT: it was active in 2000 and early 2001. RIP footofgod.com
There used to be an iOS app that highlighted great goals. I think it was called 101 Great Goals. Aside from the annoying ads, it showed some very cool goals and plays.
