Yeah man, the same wages were mentioned in the Inter rumors. We're just not going to pay that much for our manager. Will not happen.
I’m reading that its 10M over 3 years, which is very reasonable. If Conte wants to coach Roma then he will have to be satisfied with 4M or less. Even if Roma decide to pay him 10M, that will be at the expense of the roster.
You have to consider his fixing connections. He might be able to secure a few crucial calls when needed.

I don't understand what I'm supposed to be getting from this Dude thinks Ronaldo's the best ever, Totti was a good passer, EDF was doing a good job, and that Rome might tempt Conte... what else?

You just know that all this Conte chatter is being used by him and his people to drive up his cost for the team where he eventually lands (read: not Roma). It's one of the things that Roma is useful for. I don't believe for a minute he's coming here. But if I'm to suspend my suspicions and doubts for just a moment (foolish I know), the Gobbo is exactly what Roma needs. He has cache and balls big enough to SMASH the pampered/easy culture at Trigoria which has needed to be done since the beginning of time. Fcuk playing beautifully right now. Fix the age old Roma problem and start grinding out results. If he can do that he's worth every penny and once he's gone and the culture has been changed for the good only then can we get back to and attempt to play attractive football with someone else at the helm.
I think its time to rename the thread.... Unless Roma will bring back Di Francesco, the Ghost of Zeman....
I want to believe there is a slight chance Conte would come, it is foolish but I'm in 100% agreement with the reasons listed above. I also think its imperative DeRossi sticks one more year if Conte stays, as I believe DDR was a big fan of him during his NT duties. Could help with the transition to Conte's lung busting training regiments
Conte would gain my respect if he took the Roma job because it's more of an uphill battle in contrast to managing Juve, Inter. But I think @Midfield General is correct that this might be a ruse. Conte is a good marshal but I always suspected that he has the heart of a coward
Conte would be a big mentaility shift for our team. I think it was @DDR who mentioned a few years ago the difference between us and Juve in warmups before we played. Juve looked like they were preparing for war where as our guys were just messing around.

There is so much uncertainty surrounding the club right now. If Pallotta is not selling the club then Sarri is probably the best choice. But Conte is good too and he will at least make us top 3. I don’t think he will magically make us better than Juve though, you need 100 points to take the title from them and Conte is not a sorcerer.
In a nutshell. The squad needs a lot of fixing before we can even be mentioned in the same discussion as Juve, even with the likes of Conte as coach. Unfortunately the extent of that "fixing" will depend heavily on us being able to close out a top 4 finish this season, which will be far from an easy task...
Depends on your definition of success, I suppose. I don't think it matters who the manager is, top 4 is our only reasonable goal for the foreseeable future. I don't think we can actually do anything sustainable without a project, especially with the Milan clubs coming back. That said, Conte would bring instant creditability and would likely help bring the culture change this club needs in terms of work ethic, accountability and a winning mindset. He could be the shock-to-the-system a lot of these players need and might be the first manager we've had in some time that has the balls to make the tough decisions. I'm with Mort, though. I want Sarri.
Milan is supposedly in the Conte discussions as well. He's just going to play all clubs and go to highest bidder, so you guys should low ball him and teach him it's not cool to play games like that.
