I don't know enough about him personally but, IMO, Roma need a task master right now. Somebody that can drill some semblance of tactics into them.

So they arrived a couple minutes late? Hardly earth shattering stuff if it's a once off thing.

It is a big deal ask any professional athlete. Much like my job I show up to meetings a few minutes early and prepared. Its the small details that make professionals.

I agree about the small details and perhaps it was worse than made out but I think you may have overreacted a bit calling for EDFs head and suggesting he has probably lost control, that was the gist of my reply. Numerous small indiscretions like this are as bad as one big one. Little indiscretions ought to be nipped in the bud immediately, no question.

In an interview with Sky, Sousa said flat out that he wants to coach Roma. That combined with him being at games recently, I think it’s not a stretch to think we’ve already been in contact with him and EDF is on a very short leash.

Conte rumors picking up. Papers are claiming that Pallotta has told the management to begin discussing terms with him.

If its not for Conte/Jardim there is no point replacing EDF....

Wonder if Pallotta would hire Totti as a caretaker? Even if he doesn’t have his badge, because he is a WC champion , it shouldn’t matter. Sensi did the same thing with Bruno Conti.

Totti besmirching his godly legacy is not something we need right now, or ever.

If EDF doesn’t get a win against a Cesare Prandelli led Genoa he has to go. He has too.

EDF is like a cat with 9 lives. How he is still our coach is beyond me. Let there be a Christmas miracle, and bring in our saviour Antonio Conte!

Not sure how true it is or not but they are said on the Domenica sportive last night that they don't have an adequate replacement for EDF and that is why they haven't fired him. They also said Totti reached out to Conte but Francesco denied it.

The options to replace EDF are all horrible. Blanc hasn’t coached in a while and has never coached in Italy. Sousa just isn’t a good coach. Conte is the only one worth discussing but he costs like 4x the salary of EDF.

I would have taken Ranieri if he was still available.

This makes sense. Yes, Conte would be great but considering his salary and having to pay Chelsea it's beyond Roma.

Then again what's the price of missing the CL?

We need to think more broadly. For example:

    Recopa Sudamericana
    Copa Libertadores
    Copa Argentina
    Suruga Bank Championship
    Copa Sudamericana
    Supercopa Argentina
gives youth a chance (Exequiel Palacios, Julián Álvarez, Gonzalo Montiel, Lucas Beltrán)
    Next stop: Europe?

IMO, either go for someone like Conte(a winner) or continue with EDF. I see no point going after average coaches.

Maybe go after a starting cb in January, send Schick on loan and get a more experienced striker to compete with Dzeko. And, if even after reinforcing the team, qualifying for CHL becomes mathematically impossible, I say try and get a long-term coach.
