I hope I'm not the only one watching the Chemnitz-Mainz thriller. Incredible stuff!

Second upset of the Pokal as Duisburg win 1-0 over Nürnberg. The Zebras moving onto the next round.

By some stroke of luck I was in the stadium. Amazing game, never seen anything like that. It played out as though it had been scripted by Hollywood writers. o_O

Nice to see Karl Marx Stadt....er....Chemnitz pull off the big upset. The city's namesake is pleased.

Bochums win was the only surprise today. Well, but except of Bochum, Stuttgarter Kickers and Wehen (currently vs. Lautern) the smaller teams were from 4th division or below. Tomorrow and especially on Monday there will be surprises.

A bit surprised a few teams did dispatch lower competition more convincingly, but that's the Pokal for you. Siegel and Berlin giving their competition fits right now.

I know it's a cliche after watching an exciting match to say, "Wow! That was one of the best matches I've ever seen!" but after watching Friday's Chemintz-Mainz drama I genuinely believe that ranks in my personal top 5 of games I've ever watched (from a neutral standpoint).
Don't know how long this will remain up but I managed to find this:

Exactly. Those were nice goals. Nice to see Ziereis and Fink -- two former Sechziger -- do so well.

Could Saturday have ended any crazier?!

    Sportfreunde Siegen - FSV Frankfurt
    2:2 after 90 minutes
    3:3 after extra time

    Penalty sequence
    1st - FSV O O X X O O X O <--- winner! :D
    2nd - SfS X O X O O O X X

Another upset as Kickers Würzburg score in the 114th min of extra time to defeat Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Paderborn currently leading 1-0 vs RB Leipzig.

The shock of the round: Magdeburg (RL) ousts Augsburg 1:0.

So that's three top flight sides eliminated: Mainz, Stuttgart, Augsburg.

It wasn't the most enthralling of games, but a really nice result. Happy to see another old DDR team pull off an upset.

I'm not exactly a Dresden fan, but I'll be pulling for them to take down Schalke tomorrow, however unlikely it is to happen.
