Fürth reached the 1/2 finals for the first time, so around 5,000 fans surely enjoyed their trip to Hoppenheim.

I'm definitely gonna cheer for both teams at Olympiastadion Berlin. ;) May the better one win the Cup. :)

I think we're going to see a re-match of the 2008 Final, but your scenario has every chance to happen!

Should be 2 exciting games between 2 BL leaders vs BL leaders and BL 3rd vs BL 2nd.

I've been warning the other BVB fans not to sleep on GF.

If we play with the serious lack of intensity we've played with against Augsburg and Bremen, we might find ourselves out of this competition come late Tuesday night......

Congrats to the German champion for reaching the final. Cruel & very unlucky exit for the brave underdog after a great fight & performance (being so close to Berlin & Europe).

We expected nothing less than a brilliant battle from Greuther Fürth.

    We were not disappointed.

Congrats to Greuther Fürth and its fans on a superb Cup run.

Now go out and make sure we meet again in the 1. BUNDESLIGA next season!!!!

I'm absolutely delighted that Havelse beat Nürnberg. I have a soft spot for them because my father used to play for them.

I am pleased because Hecking/Nürnberg pressured their internationals (Mak, Chandler, Kiyotake) to refuse call-ups in order to be ready for the game and they lost anyway.

But we also have to consider that at this time it was possible to draw 1st Buli teams vs 1st Buli teams.

A third of Buli teams out after the first round. Im curious for how long they will stay with this schedule.....

Well, suggesting that none of the 6 1st Buli teams wanted to lose and give right away the cup in order to concentrate on the league, further that not only the Goliath underestimated David factor can be named alone responsible for it, and in addition that pro players should have the better physique to overcome high temperatures, what is the reason then?

    The reason IMHO is

    a) the longest summer break ever, the teams were not adjusted and not yet in their "season mode"

    b) all 1st Buli teams who did not prevail, were teams which all had their first season matches played vs lower class teams who did already 2-5 matches play together. E.g Bayern, Dortmund, Gladbach, Hannover, Stuttgart, etc..... already had real competition games.

    c) 2nd Buli teams already played two matches and only 5 teams did not reach next the round of which one was Regensburg that had Bayern, Cottbus and Sandhausen as Aaalen and Ingolstadt played each other, Paderborn had a derby away at Bielefeld, Hertha plays crap since last year went shitty. Most 2nd Buli teams got through vs lower league clubs.

    d) 3rd -5th class teams did well when they had already started season and their 1st Buli counterparts did not. More and more leagues 4 and 5 are in a process of getting "more pro than amateur". Nöttingen only had one game before and Hennef did obviously not well as their league has not started yet.

    e) all together: the schedule with letting 1st Buli teams starting their season in DFB Pokal prefers lower league clubs. Just remember when the 1st cup round used to be the 3rd or 4th game... did we have 6 teams out after the 1st round?
