It normally depends on how you pre ordered. Amazon, they give ya the code at purchase. On the console it is sent through there.
No, and yes. I had to cancel one of my pre-orders at Best Buy. Then I got an email reminding me that I had $25 in rewards so I bought $100 worth of psn cards, applied it to my account and pre-ordered directly from the PlayStation store. It automatically gives you access to the beta. Already downloaded, updated, and waiting.
If you pre-order on the PS4 you get automatic access to the beta, no code needed, you simply go to the D2 beta and click download and it downloads it.
Played about an hour and a half or so, few games of Crucible, did the Strike and main mission. So far so good, will take a little while to get used to the new crucible look, etc.
I like how the scout rifle and hand cannons are now in the secondary weapon slot. I enjoyed the Homecoming mission, haven't checked out the strike yet.
Technically they're in both the primary (kinetic) and secondary (energy) slots. Only difference really being that the latter can be arc/solar/void versions of the former. AND, they replaced heavy with power weapons, pretty much all the one-shot-killers ... sniper, shotgun, machine gun, rocket launcher, grenade launcher.
I just like to hang out with Zavala for a bit and mess around with the new abilities. Still haven't been able to figure out how to pop a bubble with the Sentinel, but dayamn I like going all Captain America on enemies. And now FoH is a roaming super with the Striker, can perform it multiple times, but I'm having difficulty figuring out how frequently one can slam during the super's duration. -EDIT- As if this was ever in question.
So uhh, who else has the day off of work? Other than going to get a haircut for myself and my kid (he started school the next day), I'll be playing D2 all day Oh and @Dills check your Bungie inbox

SUCKER!!! I got that Thursday and Friday off myself. Totally spaced though on the fact that the midnight release will be Tuesday night not Wednesday.
Maybe it would help to check these things before I make a statement. Right after I got my PS4, I mistakenly set up a new bungie.net account linked to my PSN. When I realized it created a separate profile, I quickly found out they had disabled the ability to unlink accounts. They've reimplemented it, so now both XBL and PSN accounts are associated with my single bungie.net profile. And I've joined 8BIT.
Yes for pre-orders. Open beta is out tomorrow, I haven't pre-ordered D2 on PC, want to see how it runs first
Only thing that sticks in my craw is that D1 players won't be recognized in D2 if they - ME - are switching platforms. Wish it could've been bnet account-specific, not tied to XBL/PSN.
