Actually, they do. Unless Herbie the Lovebug is in the soccer jersey business. Given that BigSoccer is in the soccer business and Nike has registered their designs as they pertain to soccer apparel (sp?), I would be shocked if this isn't considered infringement. Trying to use automotive race paint schemes as "prior art" would be specious at best.
Scott, Thanks for taking such a passionate interest in our shirt. Just so you know, the process worked like this: we picked the winners and sent only those two designs to our designer. The designs went back and forth between the BSI offices (and our wives) and the shirt maker till we got to a design we liked. The logo was originally on a traditional shield, but the shape of our logo and the shape of various shields didn't look good together. The circle 10s were circle Bs but I got outvoted and they got changed to 10 in honor of our ten year anniversary instead. So, oddly, it's purely coincidental. That being said, in the spirit of good sportsmanship, BigSoccer will send you something as well. Huss
