Hopefully he gets a U-20 callup at some point

Desevio made the bench but was an unused sub in Groningen's most recent game vs. Twente. He could be in line for an Eredivise debut in the near future.

He should get a U-20 call up. I know qualifying is next month, but why not call him up?

He now may be in the zone where the team isn't going to release him. It's that old Catch-22.

On the bench twice in two weeks. It very much looks like a debut in in the near future.

Credit to Dave for finding another diamond in the rough! This guy should definitely be called up to the next European friendly. As a right back though, he's at least behind Chandler, Yedlin, F. Johnson (if not at LB or LW) and Cameron (if not at CB or DM). Then there's Lichaj and Spector, who can also play RB, but are not in Klinsmann's good graces.

So Payne is (primarily) a RB. Can he play other positions well, esp. centrally?

A good RB is a valuable commodity, but it would be great if - like Cameron - he can play in more than one position.

He's played some central defense at early youth levels but RB is by far and away his best position.

I know its likely not going to happen for qualifying, but if we progress to the U-20 WC, do you think he could get a call up to a U-20 camp in the next few months?

I don't know what to think anymore. Tab is tough to predict.

I do think that there is an opening at RB for this team.

Made the bench again today (5-6th time I think).

Still awaiting his pro debut.. But it's coming

So I just heard about this guy for the first time. Any chance he gets a look for New Zealand?

Looks like he played the full 90. Anyone see how he did?

interesting to note that Desevio has started both of these games at left back, not right back :)

More coming on this, but it's a stopgap measure for the team. He's a RB and an occasional CB
