Between Shaq Moore, Desevio Payne, DeAndre Yedlin, Adam Henley and Andrew Farrell we have some outstanding prospects at RB.

Common sense would lead us to believe that he has no relation to Thomas Paine.

Coming through in the clutch yet again! Very nice piece and I like how Papa Payne was included. Sounds like the kid has a promising future. Good luck to Desevio and here's to repping the red, white, and blue someday!

I take it his younger brothers were not born in the states. If not do they have a path to citizenship?

Father is a US citizen and lived here as an adult so I assume citizenship is an option for them, though I think they would need to apply for a US passport before they were 18 or something like that.

It's hard to tell exactly from the background provided at YA, but as long as dad spent 5 years total in the US (very likely because he was naturalized & went to a US college), then he can pass along citizenship. If not, then he either needs to move with them to the US (they gain auto citizenship when they come over on a Green Card with a citizen parent) or use the residency of his parents (though it's possible they aren't the source of his citizenship). The last two options need to be done before the kids hit age 18.

The 18 rule doesn't apply if the father meets the residency requirements (very likely he does). If he doesn't then they have some other options that have to be done by age 18.

Desevio's father meets the residency requirements for the other sons' American citizenship. Not that it matters to Desevio

The most commonly confusing point about children born abroad is the assumption they have to be registered by age 18 with the consulate. The embassy can issue a Consular Report of Birth (the equivalent of a US birth certificate) only up to age 18. After that, the person has to apply directly for a passport. They don't lose the right to apply for the passport (or lose the right of citizenship), it's just a different process.
