Not good news for Payne: Khalid Karami just re-signed with Excelsior and is expected to be their top right back moving forward. Excelsior also played Jeffry Fortes at RB instead of Payne the last match.

 

Feyenoord is the next opponent and they will be in a blood thirsty mood because of the match that we lost with 3-0 (at least I hope so).So maybe Feyenoord destroys the defense making the coach feel it's necesary to make changes.
On the other hand Feyenoord is terrible on artificial turf. We lost more points on it than Ajax and PSV.

Excelsior play on plastic? Since when?

The drainage in that part of town isn't noticeably bad and their grass surface was pretty decent when I was living in Rotterdam ( 20 years ago)
.

 

I have no clue when they put it in. Has nothing to do with drainage or such things. It purely saves over 100k €€ a year.
But there's a growing anti "green carpet" movement that wants as a pre requisite to be in the Eredivisie you must have grass, not plastic.

Bruno Carotti, a decision maker of French Ligue 1 club Montpellier will be in Almelo watching the Heracles-Excelsior match. Carotti went to Almelo to look at Excelsior's striker Stanley Elbers. Another example of foreign clubs keeping an eye on even the small clubs in the Eredivisie.

Bad news: Sparta tied it up after he came on.

Didn't see it, so dunno if he was involved at all.

 

He was subbed in for an attacker, as Sparta grew stronger and stronger. So a tactical sub. The goal was scored directly from a free kick. I didnot see what he could have one about it.
